ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis of New Asymmetric Xanthene Dyes via Catalyst-Free SNAr with Sulfur Nucleophiles.

2014

Addition of a single functional handle to the tricyclic moiety of fluorescein results in asymmetric xanthene dyes. Our synthesis of a new class of asymmetric xanthenes proceeds via an unusual SNAr with sulfur nucleophiles on electron rich aromatic xanthenes scaffolds in the absence of a metal catalyst. The resulting 3′-thioethers exhibit high photostability and are conveniently converted into reactive dyes for macromolecule labelling.

Electrophysiological and morphological properties of Cajal–Retzius cells with different ontogenetic origins

2010

International audience; The different origins of Cajal-Retzius cells (CRc) as well as their diverse molecular profile suggest that this cell type may represent different neuronal subpopulations. In order to investigate whether CRc from different origins show distinct functional or morphological characteristics we used transgenic Dbx1(cre);ROSA26(YFP) mice in which two subpopulations of CRc, originating from the septum and ventral pallium (VP) at the pallial-subpallial border (PSB), were permanently labeled by yellow fluorescent protein (YFP) expression. Electrophysiological properties of YFP(+) and YFP(-) CRc were investigated by whole-cell patch-clamp recordings, while a thorough somatoden…

Etude des propriétés de coordination de nouveaux ligands macrocycliques vis-à-vis de cations métalliques en vue de l'utilisation de leurs complexes p…

2011

Noninvasive medical imaging techniques such as single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) or positron emission tomography (PET), are valuable tools for the development and validation of new therapeutic molecules. That approach requires the conjugation of a radioactive source emitting either y-rays or positrons with a biological tracer (e.g. DOTATOC). Among the potentially useful radionuclides available, 111In3+ (SPECT), 64Cu2+, and 68Ga3+ (PET) have attracted increasing attention over the last years for medical applications. To minimize the in vivo release of the radioactive cation by transmetalation or transchelation with biological ligands, it is essential to trap selectively the …

A Study Using X-ray Absorption and Emission Spectroscopy of Dioxygen-Binding Xerogels Incorporating Cyclam Units Complexed with Copper Salts.

2005

X-ray absorption spectroscopy was used to elucidate how hybrid xerogels complexed with CuCl2 could reversibly bind molecular dioxygen. Difference EXAFS analyses at the Cu K-edge suggest that dioxygen could bridge two Cu atoms in a μ-η1:η1 peroxo-like conformation with unequal Cu···O distances. Only the short distance (RCu–O1 = 1.86 ± 0.01 A) was unambiguously determined and looks typical of a CuII site. The Cu···Cu internuclear distances would be rather long: RCu–Cu ≈ 4.0 A (3.9 A) for the oxygenated (oxygen-free) xerogels. Cl K-edge EXAFS spectra revealed the pre-existence in the oxygen-free xerogels of CuI sites with short Cl–Cu bonds (2.11 ± 0.03 A). Pentacoordinate CuII sites with a lon…

Measuring ‘indirect’ investments in ICT in OECD countries

2019

International audience; ICT components, such as microprocessors, may be embodied in other capital goods not recorded as ICT in National Accounts. We name ‘indirect ICT investment’ the value of embodied ICT components in non-ICT investment. The paper provides estimates of ‘indirect ICT investment’ based on detailed and unpublished Supply-Use tables (SUT) in 12 OECD countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Our main finding is that ICT investment appears significantly higher when considering its indirect component, the average increase being about 35%. The inclusion of i…

Mollusc shellomes: Past, present and future.

2020

13 pages; International audience; In molluscs, the shell fabrication requires a large array of secreted macromolecules including proteins and polysaccharides. Some of them are occluded in the shell during mineralization process and constitute the shell repertoire. The protein moieties, also called shell proteomes or, more simply, 'shellomes', are nowadays analyzed via high-throughput approaches. These latter, applied so far on about thirty genera, have evidenced the huge diversity of shellomes from model to model. They also pinpoint the recurrent presence of functional domains of diverse natures. Shell proteins are not only involved in guiding the mineral deposition, but also in enzymatic a…

Zur Geschichte der nacheiszeitlichen Umwelt und der Kulturpflanzen im Land Brandenburg

2018

International audience; The results of pollenanalytical and archaeobotanical studies presented here show the development of veg-etation in the state of Brandenburg, which was characterized by the climate and the associated natural spread of plants as well as the use of the resource forest by man.The plant food of humans was first obtained by gathering and, since the beginning of permanent settle-ment in the Neolithic period, mainly by means of agriculture. The cultivation of plants continued over the millennia, with most archaeological cultures showing their typical inventory of crops. The dynamics of these developments require further research, as there are still many spatial and temporal …

Isolation of soil lignins by combination of ball-milling and cellulolysis: Evaluation of purity and isolation efficiency with pyrolysis/GC/MS

2009

Abstract CuO oxidation is traditionally used for soil lignin study, although, like other degradation methods it might give access only to a part of the lignin polymers. For structural characterization, lignins are conventionally isolated from plant material by combining ball-milling, cellulolysis and solvent extraction to recover a milled wall enzymatic lignin (MWEL) fraction. This method might isolate condensed lignins, which are not accounted for CuO oxidation. MWELs are still associated with polysaccharides. This study aimed to evaluate if the MWEL method can be used complementary to CuO oxidation for soil lignin studies. We assessed the purity of isolated lignins by pyrolytic characteri…
