Geometric Computing and Reasoning (GCR) is a new track of SAC and it is dedicated to the recent trends in the domain of geometric constraint solving and automated, or computer aided, deduction in geometry.
Argumentation graphs with constraint-based reasoning for collaborative expertise
2018
International audience; Collaborative processes are very important in telemedicine domain since they allow for making right decisions in complex situations with multidisciplinary staff. When modelling these collaborative processes, some inconsistencies can appear. In semantic modelling (conceptual graphs), these inconsistencies are verified using constraints. In this work, collaborative processes are represented using an argumentation system modelled in a conceptual graph formalism where inconsistencies could be particular bad attack relation between arguments. To overcome these inconsistencies, two solutions are proposed. The first one is to weight the arguments evolving in the argumentati…
Indicateurs sur les inégalités du capital humain
2007
Mothers’ self-representations and representations of childhood on social media
2023
Funding Information: This work was supported by Kone Foundation, Academy of Finland (#320370), Strategic Research Council (#327237), Strategic Research Council (#327395), Intimacy in Data-driven Culture (IDA). The author(s) declared no potential conflicts of interest with respect to the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article. Publisher Copyright: © 2023, Minna Kallioharju, Terhi-Anna Wilska and Annamari Vänskä. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine mothers’ social media accounts that focus on children’s fashion. The authors probed children’s fashion photo practices as representations of the mothers’ extended self and the kind of childhood representations produce…
RecomMetz: A context-aware knowledge-based mobile recommender system for movie showtimes
2015
Abstract Recommender systems are used to provide filtered information from a large amount of elements. They provide personalized recommendations on products or services to users. The recommendations are intended to provide interesting elements to users. Recommender systems can be developed using different techniques and algorithms where the selection of these techniques depends on the area in which they will be applied. This paper proposes a recommender system in the leisure domain, specifically in the movie showtimes domain. The system proposed is called RecomMetz, and it is a context-aware mobile recommender system based on Semantic Web technologies. In detail, a domain ontology primarily…
The Shape of Interoperability: Reviewing and Characterizing a Central Area within eGovernment Research
2012
Interoperability has been discussed and studied for more than a decade. While early discussions were very conceptual, interoperability is increasingly seen as one of the key enablers of the promised benefits from eGovernment. Consequently, and not surprisingly, a considerable amount of research has been published related to interoperability. However, a conceptual model of the interoperability domain is currently missing. We thus propose such a model based on an extensive review of a subset of the eGovernment literature published in highly ranked information systems, public administration and eGovernment journals. The model outlines and discusses actors, activities, contextual factors, effec…
The indexing of persons in news sequences using audio-visual data
2004
We describe a video indexing system that automatically searches for a specific person in a news sequence. The proposed approach combines audio and video confidence values extracted from speaker and face recognition analysis. The system also incorporates a shot selection module that seeks for anchors, where the person on the scene is likely speaking. The system has been extensively tested on several news sequences with very good recognition rates.
Stochastic equation of population dynamics with diffusion on a domain
2003
We consider Lotka-Volterra competition model with diffusion in a territorial domain with a stochastic perturbation which represents the random variations of environment conditions. We prove the existence, the uniqueness and the positivity of the solution. Moreover, the stochastic boundedness of the solution is analized.
The impact of COVID-19 on alternative and local food systems and the potential for the sustainability transition: Insights from 13 countries
2021
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a major stress test for the agri-food system. While most research has analysed the impact of the pandemic on mainstream food systems, this article examines how alternative and local food systems (ALFS) in 13 countries responded in the first months of the crisis. Using primary and secondary data and combining the Multi-Level Perspective with social innovation approaches, we highlight the innovations and adaptations that emerged in ALFS, and how these changes have created or supported the sustainability transition in production and consumption systems. In particular, we show how the combination of social and technological innovation, greater citizen involvement,…
A dynamic life-cycle model for the provisioning of software testing services
2014
Information and communications technology (ICT)-enabled international sourcing of software-intensive systems and services (eSourcing) is a powerful strategy for managing businesses more effectively. China is becoming a superpower for eSourcing service provisioning, but most Chinese providers are small- or medium-sized and leverage the mediated eSourcing model, delivering services to foreign ICT clients who interface with end-clients onshore. This model restricts the providers to low-value projects. This paper probes eSourcing of software testing services within the Chinese market because testing is one of the best ICT services small- and medium-sized providers can provide to develop domain …
