Radzenes epitēlija strukturālās izmaiņas mīksto kontaktlēcu lietotājiem

Darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 38 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 19 attēlus, 8 tabulas, 56 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis: noskaidrot mīksto kontaktlēcu ietekmi uz radzenes epitēlija biezuma kartējumu. Metode: 63 dalībniekiem (126 acis) vecumā no 18 līdz 44 gadiem tika iegūts radzenes epitēlija biezuma kartējums, veicot radzenes skenēšanu ar spektrālā domēna optiskās koherences tomogrāfu Maestro 3D (Topcon). Rezultāti: Pētījumā tika noskaidrots, ka visiem dalībniekiem radzenes epitēlijs ir biezāks centrā, un jaunākās paaudzes mīkstās kontaktlēcas nerada radzenes epitēlija biezuma izmaiņas, neatkarīgi no kontaktlēcu materiāla (hidrogēla / silikonhidrogēla) un valkāšanas modalit…

Recent excavations at Au-dessus de Bergis in Gevrey-Chambertin (Côte-d’Or, Burgundy) brought to light numerous, rectangular aligned pits interpreted as an ancient vineyard dated from the end of the 1st/mid-2nd century to the 3rd century AD. The vineyard is largely extent in area and was bounded to the south by a hedge or fence. It was composed of parallel rows that may have been trained over and along high, inclined wooden frames. Vine stocks were renewed by layering, over several generations of plants, according to some agricultural wine-growing techniques recommended by Latin agronomists. The dengue virus protease (DENV-PR) represents an attractive target for counteracting DENV infections. It is generally assumed that DENV-PR can exist in an open and a closed conformation and that active site directed ligands stabilize the closed state. While crystal structures of both the open and the closed conformation were successfully resolved, information about the prevalence of these conformations in solution remains elusive. Herein, we address the question of whether there is an equilibrium between different conformations in solution which can be influenced by addition of a competitive inhibitor. Human Papillomavirus Types 16, 18, and 31 Share Similar Endocytic Requirements for Entry

ABSTRACT Human papillomavirus type 18 (HPV18), one of the HPVs with malignant potential, enters cells by an unknown endocytic mechanism. The key cellular requirements for HPV18 endocytosis were tested in comparison to those for HPV16 and -31 endocytoses. HPV18 (like HPV16 and -31) entry was independent of clathrin, caveolin, dynamin, and lipid rafts but required actin polymerization and tetraspanin CD151, and the viruses were routed to the same LAMP-1-positive compartment. Hence, the viruses shared similar cellular requirements for endocytic entry.

Impact of VP1-Specific Protein Sequence Motifs on Adeno-Associated Virus Type 2 Intracellular Trafficking and Nuclear Entry

ABSTRACT Adeno-associated virus type 2 (AAV2) has gained much interest as a gene delivery vector. A hallmark of AAV2-mediated gene transfer is an intracellular conformational change of the virus capsid, leading to the exposure of infection-relevant protein domains. These protein domains, which are located on the N-terminal portion of the structural proteins VP1 and VP2, include a catalytic phospholipase A 2 domain and three clusters of basic amino acids. We have identified additional protein sequence motifs located on the VP1/2 N terminus that also proved to be obligatory for virus infectivity.
