Interaction between heterobinuclear molecules and nature of the ground spin state in oximato-bridged [CuIIMII]2 bis-binuclear complexes (M=Cu, Ni, Mn…
1999
[EN] Two new heterobimetallic complexes [Cu(pdmg)Ni(Me-3[12]N-3)(CH3CH2OH)](ClO4)(2)(2) and [Cu(pdmg) Mn(bipy)(2)]-ClO4)(2) . H2O (3) (H(2)pdmg = 3,9-dimethyl-4,8-diazaundeca-3,8-diene-2 10-dione dioxime; Me-3[12]N-3 = 2,4,4-trimethyl-1,5,9-triazacyclododeca-1-ene; bipy = 2,2'-bipyridyl) have been prepared and characterized. The structure of 2 has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. It consists of [Cu(pdmg)Ni(Me-3[12]N-3)(CH3CH2OH)](2+) cations and non-coordinated perchlorate anions. The [Cu(pdmg)(CH3CH2OH)] complex coordinates to the [Ni(Me-3[12]N-3)](2+) fragment to afford the binuclear unit doubly-bridged by oximato groups in cis arrangement. The coordination geo…

Skeleton growth inhibition in sea urchin embryos Paracentrotus lividus after manganese exposure.
2009
In the sea urchin embryos, skeleton is specified by interactions between PMCs and patterning cues derived from the ectoderm. PMCs use spatial and temporal information to organize the proper animal-vegetal and oral-aboral position and orientation of the two tri-radiate skeletal spicules. Many experiments have demonstrated that exposure to metals, such as lithium, zinc and nickel, can disrupt skeleton patterning information. Here, we have investigated the effects of manganese (Mn) on Paracentrotus lividus embryo development. We found that Mn exposure prevents skeleton growth producing spicule-lacking embryos. Normal skeleton growth was partially rescued after Mn removal from the culture. To d…
Highly stable and porous porphyrin-based zirconium and hafnium phosphonates – electron crystallography as an important tool for structure elucidation
2018
The Ni-metallated porphyrin-based tetraphosphonic acid (Ni-tetra(4-phosphonophenyl)porphyrin, Ni-H8TPPP) was used for the synthesis of highly porous metal phosphonates containing the tetravalent cations Zr4+ and Hf4+. The compounds were thoroughly characterized regarding their sorption properties towards N2 and H2O as well as thermal and chemical stability. During the synthesis optimization the reaction time could be substantially decreased under stirring from 24 to 3 h in glass vials. M-CAU-30, [M2(Ni-H2TPPP)(OH/F)2]·H2O (M = Zr, Hf) shows exceptionally high specific surface areas for metal phosphonates of aBET = 1070 and 1030 m2 g-1 for Zr- and Hf-CAU-30, respectively, which are very clos…
Prenatal co-exposure to neurotoxic metals and neurodevelopment in preschool children: The Environment and Childhood (INMA) Project
2018
We sought to determine whether prenatal co-exposure to As, Cd, Hg, Mn, and Pb was associated with impaired neurodevelopment in preschool children from the Spanish Environment and Childhood (INMA) Project, using the placenta as exposure matrix. We measured metal levels in placenta tissue samples randomly selected from five of the seven population-based birth cohorts participating in the INMA Project, collected between 2000 and 2008. Neuropsychological assessment of cognitive and motor function was carried through the use of the McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities (MSCA) at the age of 4-5years. Data on placental metal levels, MSCA scores, and relevant covariates was available for 302 chil…
ber den Einflu von Mangan-Ionen auf die positiv inotrope Wirkung von Adrenalin, Theophyllin und Digitoxigenin an isolierten Meerschweinchenvorhfen
1969
The influence of bivalent manganese ions (Mn++) on the positive inotropic effect of adrenaline, theophylline, and digitoxigenin was studied in isolated, electrically driven left guinea-pig auricles in phosphate-free Tyrode's solutions with different extracellular calcium concentrations ([Ca]e; 0.45; 1.8; 7.2 mM).
Influence on the phase transitions of barium titanate of the manganese valency, introduced as a substituant in the titanium site
1991
Abstract A small amount of manganese introduced in BaTiO3 modifies strongly the vibrational and electronic properties of the pure compound. Dielectric response and EPR measurements are reported in order to study the influence of the manganese valency on the ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition.
