Vector Well-posedness of Optimization Problems and Variational Inequalities

In this paper, a new sufficient condition is given in order a vector variational inequality is well-posed. This condition uses generalized convexity assumptions and can be also used in order to prove the well-posedness of a vector optimization problem.

Up-wind difference approximation and singularity formation for a slow erosion model

We consider a model for a granular flow in the slow erosion limit introduced in [31]. We propose an up-wind numerical scheme for this problem and show that the approximate solutions generated by the scheme converge to the unique entropy solution. Numerical examples are also presented showing the reliability of the scheme. We study also the finite time singularity formation for the model with the singularity tracking method, and we characterize the singularities as shocks in the solution.

Some remarks on nonlinear elliptic problems involving Hardy potentials

In this note we prove an Hardy type inequality with a remainder term, where the potential depends only on a group of variables. Such a result allows us to show the existence of entropy solutions to a class of elliptic P.D.E.'s.

Pattern formation and modulation is an active branch of mathematics, not only from the perspective of fundamental theory but also for its huge applications in many fields of physics, ecology, chemistry, biology, and other sciences. In this thesis, the occurrence of Turing and wave instabilities, giving rise to stationary and oscillatory patterns, respectively, is theoretically investigated by means of two-compartment reaction-transport hyperbolic systems. Coincidence and common fixed points of weakly reciprocally continuous and compatible hybrid mappings via an implicit relation and an application

Using the hybrid version of the notion of weakly reciprocal continuous mappings due to Gairola et al. [Coincidence and fixed point for weakly reciprocally continuous single-valued and multi-valued maps, Demonstratio Math. (2013/2014), accepted], we prove a coincidence and common fixed point theorem for a hybrid pair of compatible mappings via an implicit relation. Our main result improves and generalizes a host of previously known theorems. As an application, we give a homotopy theorem which supports our main result.

On modified α-ϕ-fuzzy contractive mappings and an application to integral equations

Abstract We introduce the notion of a modified α-ϕ-fuzzy contractive mapping and prove some results in fuzzy metric spaces for such kind of mappings. The theorems presented provide a generalization of some interesting results in the literature. Two examples and an application to integral equations are given to illustrate the usability of our theory.
