How to Enrich Description Logics with Fuzziness

International audience; The paper describes the relation between fuzzy and non-fuzzy description logics. It gives an overview about current research in these areas and describes the difference between tasks for description logics and fuzzy logics. The paper also deals with the transformation properties of description logics to fuzzy logics and backwards. While the process of transformation from a description logic to a fuzzy logic is a trivial inclusion, the other way of reducing information from fuzzy logic to description logic is a difficult task, that will be topic of future work.
Enhancement and assessment of WKS variance parameter for intelligent 3D shape recognition and matching based on MPSO

This paper presents an improved wave kernel signature (WKS) using the modified particle swarm optimization (MPSO)-based intelligent recognition and matching on 3D shapes. We select the first feature vector from WKS, which represents the 3D shape over the first energy scale. The choice of this vector is to reinforce robustness against non-rigid 3D shapes. Furthermore, an optimized WKS-based method for extracting key-points from objects is introduced. International audience; The paper presents a flexible method to enrich and populate an existing OWL ontology from XML data based on graph-based rules. These rules are defined in order to populate automatically a new version of an OWL ontology. Today, most of data exchanged between information systems is done with the help of the XML document. Leading researches in the domain of database systems are moving to semantic model in order to store data and its semantics definition. This flexible method consists in populating an existing OWL ontology from XML data. In paper we present such a method based on the definition of a graph which represents rules that drive the populating process.
Design and Calibration of an Omni-RGB plus D Camera

International audience; In this paper, we present the design of a new camera combining both predator-like and prey-like vision features. This setup provides both a spherical RGB-view and a directional depth-view of the environment. The model and calibration of the full set-up are described. A few examples will be given to demonstrate the interest and the versatility of such camera for robotics and video surveillance at the oral presentation.

This paper proposed a novel physiological approach, which could avoid artifacts occurred in most existing algorithms. In this paper, we present a parallel architecture for fast and robust face detection implemented on FPGA hardware. We propose the first implementation that meets both real-time requirements in an embedded context and face detection robustness within complex backgrounds. The chosen face detection method is the Convolutional Face Finder (CFF) algorithm, which consists of a pipeline of convolution and subsampling operations, followed by a multilayer perceptron. International audience; This paper presents an efficient method for road signs segmentation in color images. Color segmentation of road signs is a difficult task due to variations in the image acquisition conditions. Therefore, a color constancy algorithm is usually applied prior to segmentation, which increases the computation time. The proposed method is based on a log-chromaticity color space which shows good invariance properties to changing illumination. Thus, the method is simple and fast since it does not require color constancy algorithms.
