A new xenusian, Mureropodia apae gen. and sp. nov., is found in the lower Cambrian of the Murero Lagerstatte in the Cadenas Ibericas, NE Spain. In Mureropodia, the lobopod length/body width ratio reveals that this animal hardly was able to walk on the bottom surface. Possibly, it could use the limbs for anchoring the body to the substrate. A well-developed dermomuscular sac of circular and longitudinal muscular systems as well as probably retractile proboscis fit such an interpretation. Organisko vielu sastāvs un īpašības sauso boreālo mežu augsnēs Latvijā

Maģistra darbs ir par meža augšņu organiskajām vielām (kopējais ogleklis, slāpeklis, humusvielām, humīnskābām, fulvoskābām, humifikācijas indeksu) un to ietekmējošiem faktoriem, kā arī humusa formām sausieņu meža tipos Latvijā. Pētījumā noskaidrota sausieņu mežu organisko vielu sastāva un īpašību izmaiņas antropogēnās iedarbības rezultātā. Pētīta arī biotisko un abiotisko faktoru ietekme uz organisko vielu daudzumu, sastāvu un to īpašībām boreālajos sausieņu mežos Latvijā. Pētījums parādīja, ka pastāv statistiski būtiskas un vērā ņemamas atšķirības sausieņu mežu augšņu organisko vielu sastāvā starp dabiskām mežu ekosistēmām un antropogēnās darbības ietekmētām teritorijām.

Abstract In the framework of the EU fusion roadmap implementing activities, an accelerator-based Li(d,xn) neutron source called DONES (Demo-Oriented early NEutron Source) is being designed within the EUROfusion Work Package Early Neutron Source as an essential irradiation facility for testing candidate materials for DEMO reactor and future fusion power plants. Isotope Shifts of Radium Monofluoride Molecules

Isotope shifts of $^{223-226,228}$Ra$^{19}$F were measured for different vibrational levels in the electronic transition $A^{2}{}{\Pi}_{1/2}\leftarrow X^{2}{}{\Sigma}^{+}$. The observed isotope shifts demonstrate the particularly high sensitivity of radium monofluoride to nuclear size effects, offering a stringent test of models describing the electronic density within the radium nucleus. Ab initio quantum chemical calculations are in excellent agreement with experimental observations. These results highlight some of the unique opportunities that short-lived molecules could offer in nuclear structure and in fundamental symmetry studies.

Background: Peroxisomal ABC transporters are predicted to function as homodimers in mammals. [br/] Results: ABCD1 interacts with ABCD2. Chimeric proteins mimicking full-length dimers represent novel tools for functional study. Artificial homodimers and heterodimers are functional. [br/] Conclusion: Interchangeability between ABCD1 and ABCD2 is confirmed, but PUFA transport depends on ABCD2.
