In previous research on the history of the Second World War in Finland and Norway, relations between the German and Austrian occupying forces and the Sami people have generally been considered to be good. The occupant gaze upon the Sami has been interpreted as exoticizing and “touristic”. Large-sized pleomorphic adenoma of the cheek treated with Nd:Yag laser: Report of a case and review of the literature

Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) mostly involves parotid glands, while extra-parotid localizations are relatively uncommon. Particularly, PAs of the cheek minor salivary glands with a size larger than 4 cm are exceedingly rare, with only few cases reported. Surgical treatment of PA usually consists in radical excision. However, despite a presumptive radicality, recurrences, sometimes followed by malignant transformation, may occur. Here we report a case of a large-sized (6 cm) PA of the cheek minor salivary glands in a 70 year-old female patient, successfully treated through a conservative approach, based on the use of Nd:YAG Laser (λ=1064 nm). Na terenie Słowińskiego Parku Narodowego nowe stanowisko Utricularietum neglectae stwierdzono podczas badań geobotanicznych w 2014 r. w dystroficznym zbiorniku wodnym torfianka Wielkie Bagno, na wschód od miejscowości Gać (54°69’19,67’’ N, 17°50’96,11’’ E). Zbiorowisko to zostało po raz pierwszy stwierdzone w Badeni-Württembergi w Niemczech w bagnistych dołach i miejscach po wydobytym torfie. W Polsce należy do bardzo rzadko notowanych zbiorowisk. W Słowińskim Parku Narodowym płaty tego zespołu wykształciły się w miejscach zacisznych i osłoniętych od wiatru, w wodzie o głębokości 20 – 130 cm, o pH 6,5 – 6,7 na podłożu mulistym lub z dużą ilością torfu. Hydrellia albilabris (Meigen) (Diptera: Ephydridae) is recorded in the Nearctic Region for the first time. Its biology and immature stages are documented, and other miners in duckweeds (Araceae: Lemnoideae) are discussed. One new combination is proposed: Hydrellia jinpingensis (Zhang, Yang, and Hayashi) is transferred from Cavatorella.

Drawing on the theoretical notion of sociolinguistic scales this paper presents a comparative account of the changing positions of the Irish and Inari Sami languages.
