The genera Peritropisca Carvalho & Lorenzato, 1978 and Rewafulvius Carvalho, 1972 are redescribed. A description of a new species of the genus Peritropisca from Indonesia— P. laticostata sp. nov. and a redescription of P. bituberculata Carvalho & Lorenzato, 1978 are provided. The genus Euchilofulviella Gorczyca, 1999 is proposed as a junior synonym of Rewafulvius Carvalho, 1972 syn. nov. A color habitus picture of the adult and male genitalia drawings of each treated species are provided. A key to the genus Peritropisca is given.

The genus Aethus in Cambodia is known only from a single species collected in the 1950s that was originally identified as A. indicus. However, what was regarded as A. indicus in the Oriental and Australian regions appeared to consist of three sibling species, recognizable only on the basis of male genital structures, i.e., A. philippinensis, A. pseudindicus, and true A. indicus. An annotated checklist of burrower bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Cydnidae) from Bali (Indonesia) with new records*

Abstract An annotated checklist of the Balinese Cydnidae is provided. Three species (Chilocoris adelphus, Macroscytus dominiqueae, M. javanus) are recorded for the first time from Bali, including the first Indonesian record for M. dominiqueae. Fromundus pygmaeus is recorded for the second time from the island. Our study increases the number of Cydnidae recorded from Bali to seven, and that known from Indonesia to 58.

Raunoloma longiceps(Linnavuori, 1977) (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Cydnidae): First Record from Uganda

The present note reports the first Ugandan record of Raunoloma longiceps (Linnavuori, 1977), a rarely collected African burrower bug species (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Cydnidae). This record increases the number of Cydnidae genera reported from Uganda to seven, with a total of 12 species. Cydnidae belong to the superfamily Pentatomoidea and are known by almost 700 species distributed in all zoogeographical regions of the world (Lis 1996, 1999, 2006; Lis & Lis 2014). Pretarsal structures in the family Cydnidae sensu lato (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomoidea)

New data on the pretarsus in Cydnidae sensu lato are presented; 56 species of 38 genera are studied based on the SEM techniques. Pretarsal structures in Cydnidae s.l. are demonstrated to be not uniform; some are typically pentatomoid, and some are atypical for Pentatomoidea. Structures associated with the unguitractor plate, described for the first time by Weirauch (2005) in Reduviidae, and not reported for Cydnidae s.l. in the past, are described for the first time.

<strong>The mesothoracic wings of Afrotropical Scutelleridae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera): morphology and taxonomic significance</strong>

Mesothoracic wings have been examined and compared in 32 species representing 20 genera of Afrotropical Scutelleridae. Morphological characters of the corium are described. Three main types of mesothoracic wing venation patterns can be recognized. The taxonomic significance of forewing characters in Scutelleridae is briefly discussed.

Molecular phylogeny of Iberian Fordini (Aphididae: Eriosomatinae): implications for the taxonomy of generaFordaandParacletus

Mediterranean representatives of the galling aphid tribe Fordini (Hemiptera: Aphididae: Eriosomatinae) are usually grouped under the subtribe term Fordina. Aphids within Fordina display two-year life cycles, alternating between Pistacia shrubs, where they induce conspicuous galls, and roots of Poaceae species. The high number of morphs present in a given species, the lack of knowledge of the complete cycle in some species, and the similarity between homologous morphs observed in different species pose many taxonomic problems in this group. Les changements futurs de la mousson africaine.

Les résultatsmontrent l’apparition d’un contraste pluviométrique zonal entre le centre et l’ouest du Sahel. Une mousson plus intensepermettrait une hausse de la convergence d’humidité et des précipitations au centre du Sahel. Un renforcement du jet d’estafricain et de la subsidence sur l’ouest du Sahel y permettrait en revanche une baisse de la pluviométrie.

Tropical Temperate Toughs over southern Africa: mechanisms and evolution in response to climate change

In the Southern Hemisphere, Southern Africa and the south-west Indian Ocean are one of the three preferred regions where interactions between the tropics and midlatitudes develop. This is the South Indian Convergence Zone (SICZ), where northwest-southeast oriented cloud bands form at the synoptic scale (between 3 and 5 days). These bands are mainly found during the austral summer and are commonly referred to as tropical temperate troughs (TTTs). Fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl-N-methylamino Acids Synthesized in a Flow Tube-in-Tube Reactor with a Liquid-Liquid Semipermeable Membrane

Both steps of the N-methylation of 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl (Fmoc) amino acids were carried out in a microstructured tube-in-tube reactor equipped with a semipermeable Teflon® AF 2400 membrane as the inner tubing. In the first step, gaseous formaldehyde was passed through the inner membrane to effect the acid-catalyzed conversion of the Fmoc amino acids into the corresponding N-Fmoc oxazolidinones. In the second step, liquid–liquid transfer of trifluoroacetic acid was used for the first time in such a reactor for the reductive opening of these oxazolidinones to give Fmoc N-methylamino acids in high yields.
