In this study the efficacy and safety of short-term amlodipine administration on renal haemodynamics were evaluated in mild to moderate hypertensive subjects. Our final goal was to evaluate whether the reduced blood pressure induced by treatment was associated with maintenance of renal function. After a run-in period with placebo, 30 hypertensive patients without cardiac or renal diseases were randomly allocated to a double-blind 4 weeks controlled study with amlodipine 10 mg once a day (15 patients) or placebo (15 patients). von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease is a pleiotropic disorder featuring a variety of malignant and benign tumors of the eye, central nervous system, kidney, and adrenal gland. Recently the VHL gene has been identified in the chromosomal region 3p25-26. Prognosis and successful management of VHL patients and their descendants depend on unambiguous diagnosis. Abstract Imatinib mesylate, a targeted inhibitor of BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, is the standard of care for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). A phase 2 trial of imatinib in late chronic-phase (CP) CML after interferon-α (IFNα) failure enrolled 532 patients, 454 with a confirmed diagnosis of CP CML. Median time from diagnosis was 34 months; median duration of imatinib treatment was 65 months. Cumulative best rates of major cytogenetic response (MCyR) and complete cytogenetic response (CCyR) were 67% and 57%, respectively. At the 5-year landmark, 184 (41%) of the 454 patients are in CCyR. This study was undertaken to investigate the prevalence of BRCA1 and BRCA2 germline mutations in 91 German patients unselected for family history, who were diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 41 years. Clinical information and blood samples were obtained from all patients. A comprehensive BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutational analysis was performed using the protein truncation assay and single-strand conformational polymorphism analysis followed by DNA sequencing of variant signals detected by these assays. Bakalaura darbā ir veikts HTML5 un Adobe AIR hibrīdo mobilo lietotņu izstrādes platformu salīdzinājums. HTML5 izstrādes pieeja ir lietotņu izstrāde, izmantojot tīmekļa pārlūku, bet Adobe AIR izstrādes pieeja veic kompilāciju no augsta līmeņa programmēšanas valodas uz dzimtās platformas zema līmeņa valodu – bitkodu.
