A trigonal prismatic anionic iron(iii) complex of a radical o-iminobenzosemiquinonate derivative: structural and spectral analyses

2017

A new iron(III) complex, [Et3NH][FeIII(L2−˙)2] (1) with a substituted o-aminophenol based ligand is reported. Complex 1 is an anionic complex with a triethylammonium cation in the lattice. It contains two O,O,N-coordinated o-iminobenzosemiquinonate(2−) radical anions with an Fe(III) centre in a high-spin configuration. The crystal structure of 1 was determined by X-ray diffraction, which revealed a trigonal prismatic coordination environment whose electronic structure was established by various physical methods including EPR, Mossbauer spectroscopy and variable-temperature (2–300 K) magnetic susceptibility measurements. Electrochemical analysis indicated primarily ligand-centred redox proce…

Soluble Heterometallic Coordination Polymers Based on a Bis-terpyridine-Functionalized Dioxocyclam Ligand

2010

Soluble homo- and heterometallic coordination polymers containing transition metal cations (Cu(2+), Fe(2+), Co(2+), and Ni(2+) ions) were prepared in a two-step procedure using a polytopic bis(terpyridine)dioxocyclam ligand 1H(2) (dioxocyclam = 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane-5,7-dione). These supramolecular systems incorporate two different metal complexes, the metal cations being located both between two terpyridine units and in the macrocyclic framework. The characterization of these soluble architectures was investigated by cyclic voltammetry, mass spectrometry, viscosimetry, and UV-vis absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopies. Our results clearly indicate t…

2020

New soluble and intensely near-IR-absorbing transition metal (Ti, Zr, V, Ni) complexes were synthesized using a redox non-innocent N,N’-bis(3,5-di-tertbutyl-2-hydroxy-phenyl) -1,2-phenylenediamine (H4L) as a ligand precursor. In all the complexes, ([Ti(Lox)2, [Zr(Lox)2], [V(Lsq1)(HLox)] and [Ni(HLox)2], two organic molecules coordinate to the metal center as tri- or tetradentate ligands. The solid-state structures of the complexes were determined using single crystal XRD, and the compounds were further characterized with Electrospray Ionisation Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS). Thermoanalytical measurements indicated the thermal stabilities of the complexes. All compounds absorb strongly in the n…

Structural, photophysical and magnetic properties of transition metal complexes based on the dipicolylamino-chloro-1,2,4,5-tetrazine ligand

2015

International audience; The ligand 3-chloro-6-dipicolylamino-1,2,4,5-tetrazine (Cl-TTZ-dipica) 1, prepared by the direct reaction between 3,6-dichloro-1,2,4,5-tetrazine and di(2-picolyl)-amine, afforded a series of four neutral transition metal complexes formulated as [Cl-TTZ-dipica-MCl2]2, with M = Zn(II), Cd(II), Mn(II) and Co(II), when reacted with the corresponding metal chlorides. The dinuclear structure of the isostructural complexes was disclosed by single crystal X-ray analysis, clearly indicating the formation of [MII–(μ-Cl)2MII] motifs and the involvement of the amino nitrogen atom in semi-coordination with the metal centers, thus leading to distorted octahedral coordination geome…

Diels–Alder reaction on perylenediimides: synthesis and theoretical study of core-expanded diimides

2019

A one-step reaction for the fusion of aromatic rings to one or both bay areas of perylenediimides using benzynes is presented. Yields as high as 70% for naphthoperylenendiimide 2 and 80% for dibenzocoronenediimide 3 are obtained. The reaction is also carried out using substituted benzynes, heteroaromatic benzynes and substituted perylenediimides. A combined experimental/theoretical approach, based on measuring redox and absorption/emission properties and performing density functional theory calculations, indicates that increasing the π-skeleton of PDIs transversally leads to significant and unexpected changes in the electronic, redox and optical properties. The observed trends are rationali…

Planar Benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b′]dithiophene Derivatives Decorated with Nitronyl and Imino Nitroxides

2018

Four weakly antiferromagnetic interacting biradicals of benzo[1,2- b:4,5- b']dithiophene (BDT) and BDT extended with two thiophenes (BDTTh2) linked with nitronyl and imino nitroxides (NN and IN) as BDT-NN, BDT-IN, BDTTh2-NN, and BDTTh2-IN were designed, synthesized, and characterized. Short intermolecular π-π distances were found (3.42 A) for BDT-NN, whereas larger ones were found for BDT-IN (3.54 A) and BDTTh2-NN (3.67 A), respectively. Intramolecular magnetic interaction ( Jintra,exp/ kB) of BDT-NN (-26 K) is much larger than for BDT-IN (-5.3 K), while it is reduced for the dithiophene-extended molecule BDTTh2-NN (-2.3 K). Intermolecular interactions ( zJinter,exp/ kB) of BDT-NN (-6.5 K) …

Synthesis of substituted piperidines by enantioselective desymmetrizing intramolecular aza-Michael reactions.

2018

An organocatalytic enantioselective intramolecular aza-Michael reaction has been described for the first time in a desymmetrization process employing substrates different from cyclohexadienones. By using 9-amino-9-deoxy-epi-hydroquinine as the catalyst and trifluoroacetic acid as a co-catalyst, a series of enantiomerically enriched 2,5-and 2,6-disubstituted piperidines have been obtained in good yields and with moderate diastereoselectivity. Depending on the catalyst/co-catalyst loading ratio, either the major or the minor diastereoisomer of the final piperidine products was achieved with high levels of enantioselectivity. Finally, some mechanistic insights have been considered by means of …

Organotin(IV) derivatives containing heteroditopic pyridyl-quinolin-8-olate ligands: Synthesis and structures

2021

Abstract Six novel neutral organotin(IV) complexes, viz. [n-Bu2Sn(L4-PyAQ)2] 1, [Bz2Sn(L4-PyAQ)2] 2, [Ph2Sn(L4-PyAQ)2] 3, [Ph2Sn(L3-PyAQ)2] 4, [Bz3Sn(L4-PyAQ)] 5 and [Ph3Sn(L4-PyAQ)] 6 have been synthesized via reactions of 3/4-pyridyl-quinolin-8-ol pro-ligands, with appropriate diorganotin oxide and triorganotin hydroxide precursors, respectively. The compounds 1-6 were characterized in solution by means of NMR spectroscopy while the solid-state structures of 1, 6, and of the solvates 2·1.5C6H6, 3·0.25C6H6, 2·4·C6H6, and 5·0.5H2O were authenticated by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In the solid-state, the tin centers in 1-2·4·C6H6 are hexacoordinated and reveal a distorted cis-…

Pharmacophore-Based Design of New Chemical Scaffolds as Translational Readthrough-Inducing Drugs (TRIDs)

2020

[Image: see text] Translational readthrough-inducing drugs (TRIDs) rescue the functional full-length protein expression in genetic diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, caused by premature termination codons (PTCs). Small molecules have been developed as TRIDs to trick the ribosomal machinery during recognition of the PTC. Herein we report a computational study to identify new TRID scaffolds. A pharmacophore approach was carried out on compounds that showed readthrough activity. The pharmacophore model applied to screen different libraries containing more than 87000 compounds identified four hit-compounds presenting scaffolds with diversity from the oxadiazole lead. These compounds have been s…

Vinyl Fluorides: Competent Olefinic Counterparts in the Intramolecular Pauson–Khand Reaction

2019

Despite the great advances achieved in the Pauson-Khand reaction and the ever-increasing demand for fluorinated compounds, the use of vinyl fluorides as olefinic counterparts in the above-mentioned transformation had been completely overlooked. Herein, we describe, for the first time, the intramolecular Pauson-Khand reaction of enynes containing a vinyl fluoride moiety.
