Journalistic Passion as Commodity: A Managerial Perspective

This article focuses on the role of passion in news journalism from a managerial perspective. The analysis is based on a data set of 40,621 web-based job advertisements obtained from Journalismjobs.com, from the year 2002 to 2017. The quantitative analysis shows that passion has been on the rise as only 4% of the job advertisements in 2002 asked for “passionate” journalists, increasing to almost 16% in 2013. The authors also performed a qualitative analysis of job advertisements mentioning the word “passion” for the periods 2002–2003 and 2017. Localization of emotional and volitional facial paresis.

Emotional facial paresis is characterized by impaired activation of face muscles with emotion but normal voluntary activation. We report seven patients with this sign. Their lesions involved the frontal lobe white matter, the striatocapsular territory, the anterolateral thalamus and insula, the posterior thalamus and operculum, and the mesial temporal lobe and insula each in one patient, and the posterior thalamus in two patients. Volitional facial paresis affects facial movements with voluntary effort, sparing activation on emotion. We report four such patients, with lesions involving the motor cortex in one and the pyramidal tract in the cerebral hemisphere in three.

A partir de una etnografía se obtienen las actividades propuestas por el profesorado de Educación Física de una escuela de Meliana, en Valencia (España). Se recogen 82 tareas motrices que son analizadas y contextualizadas en el marco educativo. The response is often mediated by a structural change in a protein that begins when absorption of a photon causes isomerization of a chromophore bound to the protein.
