Role of Matrix Metalloproteinases in complications of thoracic aortic aneurysm

Objectve: Metalloproteinases (MMPs) are endopeptidases involved in extracellular matrix remodelling, associated with both physiopatological processes of several human tissues and systems, such as vascular system. It is well known their involvement in mediating both beneficial and pathological aorta effects, such as abdominal orta aneurysms and its complcations. To the Editor: During the early 20th century, at the end of World War I, and during World War II, louseborne relapsing fever (LBRF) caused by Borrelia recurrentis was a major public health problem, especially in eastern Europe and northern Africa (1,2). Currently, poor living conditions, famine, war, and refugee camps are major risk factors for epidemics of LBRF in resource-poor countries, such as those in the Horn of Africa (3,4). Increased migration from resource-poor countries and war/violence create new routes for spread of vectorborne diseases. Numerical study of the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation and dispersive shock waves

A detailed numerical study of the long time behaviour of dispersive shock waves in solutions to the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) I equation is presented. It is shown that modulated lump solutions emerge from the dispersive shock waves. For the description of dispersive shock waves, Whitham modulation equations for KP are obtained. It is shown that the modulation equations near the soliton line are hyperbolic for the KPII equation while they are elliptic for the KPI equation leading to a focusing effect and the formation of lumps. Such a behaviour is similar to the appearance of breathers for the focusing nonlinear Schrodinger equation in the semiclassical limit.

A travers les trois parties de Sido, le jeu sur le Temps (en particulier la structure non chronologique ou la juxtaposition immédiate du passé et du présent), produit des effets comparables et contribue à conférer à l'oeuvre son unité ; au contraire, les moyens linguistiques mis en oeuvre dans chaque chapitre, le choix de certains temps verbaux notamment, affirment des perceptions très différentes du passé : l'étude quantitative et comparative des temps employés permet ainsi de souligner l'hétérogénéité profonde de Sido.

Abstract Background We assessed the 10-year efficacy, immunogenicity and safety of two doses of a combined measles-mumps-rubella-varicella vaccine (MMRV) or one dose of a monovalent varicella vaccine (V) in children from Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Mesurer l'effet du travail salarié sur la réussite : une analyse statistique sur les étudiants d'une université française

L’emploi étudiant est généralement considéré comme un frein à la réussite scolaire et universitaire. Nos travaux portant sur une enquête réalisée dans une université française en 2012 visent à mesurer les effets des caractéristiques de l’emploi et, notamment, de son intensité. À partir d’une modélisation statistique prenant en compte la probabilité d’accès au travail salarié, nous montrons un effet négatif de l’emploi salarié pour les étudiants qui travaillent plus de 8 heures par semaine. Le type d’emploi exercé a également un effet sur les chances de réussite : les jeunes ayant un emploi dans le secteur public et ceux qui ont la possibilité d’aménager leur emploi du temps paraissent moins…

Le Sacre du printemps constitue une oeuvre clé pour l’histoire de l’enregistrement et pour la musicologie de l’interprétation. Igor Stravinski considérait ses enregistrements comme établissant un modèle d’interprétation faisant autorité, mais c’est un fait connu qu’il ne respecte pas ses propres indications de tempo et fait un usage plus ou moins important du rubato.
