Lack of antiandrogenic effects of topical bifonazole on sebaceous glands and hairs in the hamster flank organ.

The activity of topically applied bifonazole was evaluated in vivo in the three androgen-dependent structures of the hamster flank organ, i.e. the pigmented spot, sebaceous glands and hairs. Topical bifonazole in our experience did not demonstrate any morphological effect on sebaceous gland and hair even when applied in the dosage of 3 mg/cm<sup>2</sup>/day. On the basis of our morphometric results we can conclude that topically applied bifonazole does not interfere with cutaneous androgen metabolic transformations in the pilosebaceous unit of the flank organ.

Topical canrenoic acid. Quantification of the antiandrogenic activity in the hamster flank organ

: The topical antiandrogenic activity of potassium canrenoate (CAK), compared with that of spironolactone (SP), was assayed in vivo in female golden Syrian hamsters whose flank organs were stimulated by subcutaneous administration of testosterone propionate. Sebaceous glands and hair were measured by a computerized image analyzer. Pigmented spots, sebaceous gland areas, and the diameter of hairs of the treated flank organs were smaller in the groups that received CAK (1·6 mg/day) and SP (0·4 mg/day). The hypothesis of the preferred X-chromosome loss in elder human females was reevaluated in the golden hamster: early castration of females proved that the increase of aneuploid cells is correlated with the loss of the ovaries. But here, and in old females, aneuploidy consisted of random loss of excess of chromosomes, in no case an X-chromosome.

Context. High resolution X-ray spectroscopy has revealed soft X-rays from high density plasma in classical T Tauri stars (CTTSs), probably arising from the accretion shock region. However, the mass accretion rates derived from the X-ray observations are consistently lower than those derived from UV/optical/NIR studies. Aims: We aim to test the hypothesis that the high density soft X-ray emission originates from accretion by analysing, in a homogeneous manner, optical accretion indicators for an X-ray selected sample of CTTSs. Origin of asymmetries in X-ray emission lines from the blast wave of the 2014 outburst of nova V745 Sco

The symbiotic nova V745 Sco was observed in outburst on 2014 February 6. Its observations by the Chandra X-ray Observatory at days 16 and 17 have revealed a spectrum characterized by asymmetric and blue-shifted emission lines. Here we investigate the origin of these asymmetries through three-dimensional hydrodynamic simulations describing the outburst during the first 20 days of evolution. The model takes into account thermal conduction and radiative cooling and assumes a blast wave propagates through an equatorial density enhancement. Ribonuclease H levels in herpes simplex virus-infected cells.

Two forms of ribonuclease H (RNase H) have been identified both in uninfected and Herpes Simplex virus (HSV-)infected BHK cells. Identical RNase H species were detected in control- as well as in infected cells. RNase H I and II have not been found to be associated both with host cell DNA polymerase alpha and beta and HSV-induced DNA polymerase. Infection of BHK cells with HSV type 1 does not lead to a pronounced alteration of RNase H II activity but to an increase (3-fold) of the extractable RNase H I activity. Tomēr mūža ieslodzījums ne vienmēr nozīmē ieslodzījumu līdz mūža galam. Latvijas regulējums paredz, ka uz mūžu notiesātie var tikt atbrīvoti pirms termiņa. Tomēr ir valstis, kur regulējums pirmstermiņa atbrīvošanu uz mūžu notiesātajiem neparedz. Eiropas Cilvēktiesību tiesa ir norādījusi, ka neparedzot uz mūžu notiesātajiem tiesības uz pirmstermiņa atbrīvošanu, tiek pārkāpts spīdzināšanas un necilvēcīgas apiešanās aizliegums.
