Post-Translational Modifications of Nuclear Proteins in the Response of Plant Cells to Abiotic Stresses

2011

For a long time, in plant cells as in animal cells, the nucleus was only considered as the organelle in which fundamental mechanisms such as replication and transcription occurred. While strong efforts were deployed in order to identify important families of transcription factors such as MYB, WRKY or TGA families (Dubos et al., 2010; Rushton et al., 2010), a few attention was devoted to our lack of knowledge about their regulation in regard to the physiological conditions of the plant cells. Whereas the major importance of posttranslational modification of proteins is well established for several decades regarding cytosolic proteins, the last years have been characterized by the discovery t…

The Regulation of Dorsiventral Symmetry in Plants

2000

The higher plant shoots are generally radially symmetrical; leaves produced at the shoot apex are dorsiventral while axillary shoots again show radial symmetry. Recently analyzed mutants in different plants indicate that the proper definition of adaxial and abaxial identities is necessary to generate a leaf margin and dorsiventral symmetry, Two genes important in the regulation of transsectional leaf symmetry are PHANTASTICA (a MYB (Myeloblastosis oncogene)-domain transcription factor) and KNOTTED1-like genes (homeodomain transcription factors). We review these results in light of hypotheses about the evolutionary origin of leaves and discuss similarities of mutant phenotypes to unifacial l…

QSAR of Natural Sesquiterpene Lactones as Inhibitors of Myb-dependent Gene Expression

2017

Background Protein c-Myb is a therapeutic target. Some sesquiterpene lactones suppress Myb-dependent gene expression, which results in their potential anti-cancer activity. Material & methods Database ChEMBL is a representative of lactones for physicochemical and physiochemical properties. Data presented for 31 natural lactones are discussed in terms of quantitative structureactivity relationships with the objective to predict inhibitors of Myb-induced gene expression. Several constitutional descriptors are related to structure-activity. α-Methylene-γ-lactone groups enhance while OH functions worsen potency. The latter feature is in agreement with the fact that the more lipophilic the lacto…

Major orchestration of shikimate, early phenylpropanoid and stilbenoid pathways by Subgroup 2 R2R3-MYBs in grapevine

2021

AbstractThe stilbenoid pathway is responsible for the production of resveratrol and its derivatives in grapevine. A few transcription factors (TFs) have been previously identified as regulators of this pathway but the extent of this control is yet to be fully understood. Here we demonstrate how DNA affinity purification sequencing (DAP-Seq) allows for genome-wide TF binding site interrogation in a non-model species. We obtained 5,190 and 4,443 binding events assigned to 4,041 and 3,626 genes for MYB14 and MYB15, respectively (around 40% of peaks being located within -10kb of transcription start sites). DAP-Seq of MYB14 and MYB15 was combined with aggregate gene centred co-expression network…

Lithuanian armed forces in Ilūkstė region in 1919–1920

2006

2021

Nesenie atklājumi ģenētiski pārmantoto muskuļu slimību laukā parādīja, ka jauni varianti c.739T>C (p.Y247H) un c.742G>A (p.E248K) MYBPC1 gēnā, kas kodē lēno skeleta miozīnu saistošo proteīnu C, izraisa muskuļu miopātiju ar miogēnu tremoru. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir veikt MYBPC1 gēna patogēno variantu p.Y247H un p.E248K funkcionālo analīzi, izmantojot peļu knock-in modeļus. Darba izstrādē izmantotās metodes iekļauj transkriptomu bibliotēku sagatavošanu un analīzi, digitālo pilienu PCR un dzīvnieku modeļa funkcionālo izpēti. Darba gaitā tika analizēti divi peļu knock-in modeļi: vienam tika veikta gēnu ekspresijas analīze skeleta muskuļos, otram veikta sākotnējā funkcionālā analīze. Veiktie pē…
