Reaktionen an Aluminiumoxiden. 3. Mitt.: Umsetzungen von Propanal und Benzaldehyd an Aluminiumoxid

1973

Reactions on Alumina Oxides The reactions of propanal and benzaldehyde on various alumina oxides were investigated under different conditions. The resulting products were identified by synthesized compounds and TLC and GLC.

Synthesis, antiproliferative activity, and mechanism of action of new benzamido derivatives

2011

The cinnamoyl anthranilamides represent a class of biological active substances of great importance in medicinal chemistry. Moreover, despite their wide range of biological activities, a review of the literature revealed that no anticancer activity is described for this kind of substances. Starting from the 2-cinnamamido-5-iodobenzamide, resulted able to inhibit the leukemic cell line K-562 proliferation with a percent of inhibition of 74% at 10M concentration, we undertake the following structural modifications on cinnamamidobenzamide skeleton: the introduction of various substituents both on the benzamido and the cinnamamido moieties, the substitution of olefinic bond with the ethane, et…

Synthese und narkotische Wirkung von Pyrimido[1,2-a]benzimidazol-2,4-dionen Synthesis and Anesthetic Activity of Pyrimido[1,2-a]benzimidazole-2,4-dio…

1982

Identification of Novel Anthracycline Resistance Genes and Their Inhibitors

2021

Differentially expressed genes have been previously identified by us in multidrug-resistant tumor cells mainly resistant to doxorubicin. In the present study, we exemplarily focused on some of these genes to investigate their causative relationship with drug resistance. HMOX1, NEIL2, and PRKCA were overexpressed by lentiviral-plasmid-based transfection of HEK293 cells. An in silico drug repurposing approach was applied using virtual screening and molecular docking of FDA-approved drugs to identify inhibitors of these new drug-resistant genes. Overexpression of the selected genes conferred resistance to doxorubicin and daunorubicin but not to vincristine, docetaxel, and cisplatin, indicating…

Preparation of dopaminergic N-alkyl-benzyltetrahydroisoquinolines using a 'one-pot' procedure in acid medium.

2000

The preparation of N-methyl-BTHIQ (4) from N-phenylethyl-phenacetamide (1) by cyclization, reduction and N-alkylation in acid medium has been achieved in good yield in a 'one-pot' procedure. Acylation of imine (2) intermediate afforded the Z and E stereoselectivity in the enamide formation. 6-Hydroxy-BTHIQ (7) shows selectivity for D2 dopamine receptors, while its N-methylated homologue (8) displays higher affinities for both D1 and D2 receptor types, with an unexpected increase in D1 dopamine receptor affinity.

Two-carbon bridge substituted cocaines: enantioselective synthesis, attribution of the absolute configuration and biological activity of novel 6- and…

1999

In an effort to learn more about the general structure-activity relationships of cocaine with the aim to elucidate those structural features that might confer antagonistic properties to such analogues, we describe herein our synthetic efforts to prepare two-carbon bridge functionalized (methoxylated and hydroxylated) analogues. Our approach makes use of a modification of the classical Willstatter synthesis of cocaine: Mannich type cyclization of acetonedicarboxylic acid monomethyl ester with methylamine hydrochloride and 2-methoxysuccindialdehyde in a citrate buffer solution afforded the 6- and 7-substituted 2-carbomethoxy-3-tropinones 3a,b and 4a,b in approximate yields of 64%. Anti-Helicobacter Activity of Certain Food Plant Extracts and Juices and Their Composition in Vit…

2011

Plant material screening was performed to study anti-Helicobacter pylori activity in vitro using an agar diffusion method on Columbia blood agar. 33 substances, juices and plant extracts and 35 of their combinations were tested. Quince (Cydonia oblonga) juice demonstrated the strongest anti-H. pylori activity followed by cranberry juice. Con-centrated apple juice, plum, red currant, black chokeberry, raspberry and bilberry juice also showed significant activity. Green tea and apple pomace extract as well as sweet flag rhizome, ginger and wild bergamot extract, cherry syrup, red beet juice and whey did not exhibit anti-Helicobacter activity. Quince juice in combination with bilberry, black c…

Calorimetric and viscosimetric investigation of the interaction between α,β-polyasparthydrazide and sodium dodecyl sulfate micelles

1993

Abstract The interaction between α,β-polyasparthydrazide (PAHy) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) micelles in aqueous solution was investigated by calorimetry and viscosimetry. The dependence of the enthalpic effect due to this interaction upon the surfactant concentration was rationalized in terms of a progressive binding of SDS micelles to the polymeric backbone. The analysis of the calorimetric data allow evaluation of the binding ability of SDS micelles to the polymeric chain. The viscosimetric behavior of SDS plus PAHy aqueous solutions, discussed in terms of the parameter F [F = ηrel(PAHy) + ηrel(PAHy) − ηrel(SDS+PAHy)], confirms the occurence of the interaction between SDS micelles an…
