The Scales of Psychological Well-Being – a validation, usability and test–retest study among community-dwelling older people in Finland

Objectives: To validate the Finnish version of the 42-item Scales of Psychological Well-Being among community-dwelling older people. The study also examined the test–retest reliability and usability, i.e. user experience, of the scales in this age group. Method: The 42-item version of the SPWB was administered as part of a face-to-face interview among 968 men and women aged 75, 80 or 85 years. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to assess the reliability of the Adolescent Label Impact Index (ALII) , it is an adolescent adapted version of Italian LII of the tobacco products warnings. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A sample including students aged 13-15 years was considered. The ALII is constructed by 4 items: salience, harm, quitting and forgo. Chronic pain affects the whole person--a phenomenological study.

The aim of this qualitative study was to explore participants' perspectives on the effects of chronic pain on the psychophysical unity.Thirty-four chronic pain outpatients were interviewed, and the transcribed interviews were analysed with Giorgi's four-phase phenomenological method. The mean age of the participants was 48 years, and 19 of them were women. Päätoimittajan tehtävään kuuluu vastuu lehden sisällöstä, mutta monessa paikallislehdessä päätoimittaja kantaa myös taloudellista vastuuta. Rho GTPases in human breast tumours: expression and mutation analyses and correlation with clinical parameters

In the present study, we addressed the question of a putative relevance of Rho proteins in tumour progression by analysing their expression on protein and mRNA level in breast tumours. We show that the level of RhoA, RhoB, Rac1 and Cdc42 protein is largely enhanced in all tumour samples analysed (n=15) as compared to normal tissues originating from the same individual. The same is true for 32P-ADP-ribosylation of Rho proteins which is catalysed by Clostridium botulinum exoenzyme C3.
