Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) is a powerful technique for localizing specific DNA targets directly in the fixed tissue or cells. Bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) as well as commercial probes, which could be supplied ready for use or concentrated and must be diluted following the manufacturers instructions, can be used. The technique requires 2 days, as an overnight incubation of the FISH probes is needed for optimal hybridization. The critical steps include deparaffinization of tissue sections, optimal pretreatment (target retrieval and protein digestion), and probe hybridization. Dynamically generated N* resonances from the interaction of two mesons and a baryon

We have studied the ππN system and coupled channels by using of the Faddeev equations and two N* and one Δ states, all of them with JP = 1/2+, have been found in the formalism as dynamically generated states. In addition, signatures for a new N* resonance with JP = 1/2+ are found around an energy of 1920 MeV in the three-body center of mass system.

Including theΔ(1232)resonance in baryon chiral perturbation theory

Baryon chiral perturbation theory with explicit $\ensuremath{\Delta}(1232)$ degrees of freedom is considered. The most general interactions of pions, nucleons, and \ensuremath{\Delta} consistent with all underlying symmetries as well as with the constraint structure of higher-spin fields are constructed. By use of the extended on-mass-shell renormalization scheme, a manifestly Lorentz-invariant effective-field theory with a systematic power counting is obtained. As applications, we discuss the mass of the nucleon, the pion-nucleon \ensuremath{\sigma} term, and the pole of the \ensuremath{\Delta} propagator.

Concentration and energy fluctuations in a critical polymer mixture

A semi-grand-canonical Monte Carlo algorithm is employed in conjunction with the bond fluctuation model to investigate the critical properties of an asymmetric binary (AB) polymer mixture. By applying the equal peak-weight criterion to the concentration distribution, the coexistence curve separating the A-rich and B-rich phases is identified as a function of temperature and chemical potential. All nymphal instars of the recently discovered troglobitic planthopper species Valenciolenda fadaforesta Hoch &amp; Sendra, 2021 are described. This represents the first documentation of the complete postembryonic development of any species in the family Kinnaridae. Characters of the external morphology are described and illustrated, and a key to the instars are provided to facilitate discrimination among the different nymphal stages.
