The genus Dilyta, and the known species of this genus present in the Holarctic, D. subclavata Forster from Europe and D. rathmanae Menke and Evenhuis from USA, are redescribed. Four new species of Dilyta are described from the eastern Palaearctic region: D. aleevae sp. n. from Kazakhstan, D. japonica sp. n. from Japan, and D. longinqua sp. n. and D. sinica sp. n. from China. All six species have an ∩ -shaped carina on the apex of the scutellum; this character differentiates these species from the Afrotropical species, which instead have two small symmetrical and parallel carinae. ABSTRACT Charipinae Dalla Torre & Kieffer, 1910 material collected during the ATBI of the Mercantour National Park in the Alpes-Maritimes (France) has been studied. Based on the study of 362 specimens, 35 species in four genera have been identified from: 23 Alloxysta Forster, 1869; 10 Phaenoglyphis Forster, 1869; one Apocharips Fergusson, 1986 and one Dilyta Forster, 1869. Many-Body Expanded Full Configuration Interaction. II. Strongly Correlated Regime

In this second part of our series on the recently proposed many-body expanded full configuration interaction (MBE-FCI) method, we introduce the concept of multideterminantal expansion references. Through theoretical arguments and numerical validations, the use of this class of starting points is shown to result in a focussed compression of the MBE decomposition of the FCI energy, thus allowing chemical problems dominated by strong correlation to be addressed by the method. The general applicability and performance enhancements of MBE-FCI are verified for standard stress tests such as the bond dissociations in H$_2$O, N$_2$, C$_2$, and a linear H$_{10}$ chain. ‘One-Pot’ Synthesis of Raumacline from Ajmaline

For the alkaloid raumacline (2), which is a biotransformation product of ajmaline (1) in Rauwolfia serpentina cell cultures, an efficient ‘one-pot’ synthesis was developed using a NaBH4/riboflavin/light-mediated transformation of 1 into 2 with a total yield of 86%.

Calculations of the atomic structure of the KNbO3 (110) surface

Abstract The O-terminated KNbO 3 (110) surface is modeled using a semi-empirical shell model and two different short-range interatomic potentials. We find this surface to be unstable with respect to a strong reconstruction and K-termination. This conclusion is confirmed by preliminary calculations using the ab initio linear combination of atomic orbitals (LCAO) formalism.

Chiral expansion of the nucleon mass to order q^6

We present the results of a complete two-loop calculation at order q^6 of the nucleon mass in manifestly Lorentz-invariant chiral perturbation theory. The renormalization is performed using the reformulated infrared renormalization, which allows for the treatment of two-loop integrals while preserving all relevant symmetries, in particular chiral symmetry.

In-medium pi-pi Correlation Induced by Partial Restoration of Chiral Symmetry

We show that both the linear and the non-linear chiral models give an enhancement of the pi-pi cross section near the 2pi threshold in the scalar-iso-scalar (I=J=0) channel in nuclear matter. The reduction of the chiral condensate, i.e., the partial chiral restoration in nuclear matter, is responsible for the enhancement in both cases. We extract an effective 4pi-nucleon vertex which is responsible for the enhancement but has not been considered in the non-liear models for in-medium pi-pi interaction. Relation of this vertex and a next-to-leading order terms in the heavy-baryon chiral lagrangian, L_piN^(2), is also discussed.
