The dry clutch is a fundamental component in many automotive drivelines. For instance, the clutch torque transmissibility characteristic severely influences gearshift performance in automated manual transmissions. In this paper a novel model of the torque transmissibility of dry clutches is proposed. The dependence of the transmissibility characteristic on wear, slip speed and friction pads geometry and the influence of the diaphragm spring, the flat spring and the torsional damper springs is taken into account and pointed out. The sensitivity of a clutch engagement control scheme with respect to the clutch characteristic uncertainties is analyzed.

Abstract This paper, starting from the U.S. experience (USGBC LEED) in the building field, through GBC ITALIA, underlines the need of a specific methodological approach in our country for a roads sustainable design. On the rhythm of head movements in Finnish and Swedish Sign Language sentences

This paper investigates, with the help of computer-vision technology, the similarities and differences in the rhythm of the movements of the head in sentences in Finnish (FinSL) and Swedish Sign Language (SSL). The results show that the movement of the head in the two languages is often very similar: in both languages, the instances when the movement of the head changes direction were distributed similarly with regard to clause-boundaries, and the contours of the roll (tilting-like) motion of the head during the sentences were similar. The objective of this research was to evaluate the modification of canopy architecture of ''Flordastar'' peach (Prunus persica L. Batsch) grafted onto rootstocks with different vigour, by the use of fractal dimension (D). The hypothesis was that different vigour rootstocks are able to modify the complexity of the branching pattern and that this effect can be assessed by a geometric parameter such as the fractal dimension (D) of the 2D projection of tree branching structure.
