Interstitial Telomeric-like Repeats (ITR) in Seed Plants as Assessed by Molecular Cytogenetic Techniques: A Review.

The discovery of telomeric repeats in interstitial regions of plant chromosomes (ITRs) through molecular cytogenetic techniques was achieved several decades ago. However, the information is scattered and has not been critically evaluated from an evolutionary perspective. Based on the analysis of currently available data, it is shown that ITRs are widespread in major evolutionary lineages sampled. However, their presence has been detected in only 45.6% of the analysed families, 26.7% of the sampled genera, and in 23.8% of the studied species. The Internet as a new means of communication promotes the emergence of new ways of expressing thoughts and emotions. Our brief analysis of the techniques for verbalizing positive emotions on the Internet shows that Internet users have found ways to solve these problems. The graphic and lexical means they use allow them to express the entire range of experiences. Prolongation and chanting replace phonetic means, emoticons convey facial expressions, duplicated punctuation marks express the power of emotions. Two decades later the author steps forth to chastise the nation with simplistic reactionary truths. The hero of Hamsunʼs “wanderer” novels 1906 to 1912 may be taken to parody the protagonists of Hunger, Mysteries, and Pan 1888–1894. The hysteric tone in the narratorʼs criticism of modern society in Hamsunʼs 1912 novel, The Last Joy, points to a personal motivation. The Omission of Accent Marks Does Not Hinder Word Recognition: Evidence From Spanish

Recent research has found that the omission of accent marks in Spanish does not produce slower word identification times in go/no-go lexical decision and semantic categorization tasks [e.g., cárcel (prison) = carcel], thus suggesting that vowels like á and a are represented by the same orthographic units during word recognition and reading. However, there is a discrepant finding with the yes/no lexical decision task, where the words with the omitted accent mark produced longer response times than the words with the accent mark. Celem tekstu jest przybliżenie kategorii mitu w ujęciu Piera Paola Pasoliniego wykorzystanej do analizy powojennego społeczeństwa konsumpcyjnego na przykładzie dwóch figur mitycznych: Edypa i Medei. Ramą badawczą, jakiej użyje się przy spojrzeniu na omawianą tematykę będzie teoria mitu a także myśl Antonia Gramsciego oraz Waltera Benjamina, od których Pasolini uczył się patrzenia na klasowość i konsumpcjonizm. W pierwszej części artykułu wskazuje się na wyraźną analogię między teorią hegemonii Gramsciego oraz Benjaminowskim ujęciem kapitalizmu jako religii a twórczością filmową i literacką Pasoliniego. Demokracja a kapitalizm. Przyczynek do analizy z perspektywy ekonomii politycznej

Celem artykułu jest analiza stosunków między demokracją a kapitalizmem w ujęciu ekonomii politycznej. Przyjęto w nim założenie, że demokracja stanowi formę organizacji życia politycznego, zaś kapitalizm życia ekonomicznego. W pierwszej części przedstawiono krytykę liberalizmu hegemona współczesnej filozofii politycznej z punktu widzenia myśli Karola Marksa. W drugiej opisano bankructwo optymistycznych złudzeń o postępie moralnym. Artykuł kończy się wspomnieniem kategorii „godnego społeczeństwa”, stworzonej przez Johna Kennetha Galbraitha.
