The Study of Dynamic Objects Identification Algorithms Based on Anisotropic Properties of Generalized Amplitude-Phase Images

2018

The article presents some results of dynamical objects identification technology based on coincidence matrixes of templates and tested objects’ amplitude-phase images (APIm) calculated with discrete Hilbert transforms (DHT). DHT algorithms are modeled on basis of isotropic (HTI), anisotropic (HTA), generalized transforms – AP-analysis (APA) and the difference (residual) relative shifted phase (DRSP-) images to calculate the APIm. The identified objects are recognized as members of classes modeled with 3D templates – images of different types airplanes rotated in space. The dynamic anisotropic properties of APIm causes the increasing of sensitivity to circular angle rotation and make possibl…

A NEW PCR-BASED TYPING OF THE RODGERS AND CHIDO ANTIGENIC DETERMINANTS OF THE FOURTH COMPONENT OF HUMAN COMPLEMEMT

1994

The Rodgers (Rg) and Chido (Ch) blood groups are antigenic determinants of the fourth component of human complement C4. They are associated with the two isotypes of C4, C4A and C4B, respectively. They serve as markers to distinguish C4A from C4B as well as for the definition of subtypes of common and rare allotypes. As an alternative to the serological typing method using human alloantisera, a PCR typing procedure with sequence-specific primers (PCR-SSP) was designed. The method was tested on selected DNA samples from individuals with well-defined C4 allotypes. No false-positive or false-negative typing results were obtained and all the determinant combinations could be distinguished. The P…

New Error Measures to Evaluate Features on Three-Dimensional Scenes

2011

In this paper new error measures to evaluate image features in three-dimensional scenes are proposed and reviewed. The proposed error measures are designed to take into account feature shapes, and ground truth data can be easily estimated. As other approaches, they are not error-free and a quantitative evaluation is given according to the number of wrong matches and mismatches in order to assess their validity

Improving point matching on multimodal images using distance and orientation automatic filtering

2016

International audience; Speed Up Robust Features SURF is one of the most popular and efficient methods used for image registration task. In order to achieve a correct registration, a good matching of feature point is required. However in the case of multimodal images, the high and non-linear intensity changes between different modalities led to many outliers (mismatching of detected points) and consequently a fail in the registration. Therefore, in this paper we introduce an efficient method devoted to the detection and removal of such outlier. It's based on an automatic filtering of outliers on both distance and orientation between features points. We tested our proposed method on a set of…

The time course of face matching by internal and external features: Effects of context and inversion.

2010

AbstractEffects of context and inversion were studied in face matching tasks by measuring proportion correct as a function of exposure duration. Subjects were instructed to attend either internal features (task A) or external features (task B) and matched two consecutive face stimuli, which included either congruent, incongruent, or no facial context features. In congruent contexts matching performance rose fast and took very similar courses for both types of facial features. With no contexts internal and external features were found to be matched at an equal speed, while incongruent contexts seriously delayed matching performance for internal, but not for external features. Analysing the e…

Mixed Reality Annotation of Robotic-Assisted Surgery videos with real- time tracking and stereo matching

2023

Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS) is beginning to unlock its potential. However, despite the latest advances in RAS, the steep learning curve of RAS devices remains a problem. A common teaching resource in surgery is the use of videos of previous procedures, which in RAS are almost always stereoscopic. It is important to be able to add virtual annotations onto these videos so that certain elements of the surgical process are tracked and highlighted during the teaching session. Including virtual annotations in stereoscopic videos turns them into Mixed Reality (MR) experiences, in which tissues, tools and procedures are better observed. However, an MR-based annotation of objects requires trackin…

Robust Fault Detection of Linear Uncertain Time-Delay Systems Using Unknown Input Observers

2013

This paper deals with the problem of fault detection for linear uncertain time-delay systems. The proposed method for Luenberger observers is developed for unknown input observers (UIOs), and a novel procedure for the design of residual based on UIOs is presented. The design procedure is carried out based on the ${H}_{\infty }$ model matching approach which minimizes the difference between generated residuals by the optimal observer and those by the designed observer in the presence of uncertainties. The optimal observer is designed for the ideal system and works so that the fault effect is maximized while the exogenous disturbances and noise effects are minimized. This observer can give di…

Selection bias ed incentivi alle imprese nei programmi per lo sviluppo locale: una valutazione ex-post

2015

This paper focuses on the evaluation of an aid scheme included in a larger local development program realized in Italy during the 2000-2006 cycle of EU Structural Funds. It follows a previous analysis (Cusimano, Mazzola, 2014) on the ex-post evaluation of the effects of the aid schemes included in the so-called territorial integrated projects (tips) and aims at identifying the possible presence of selection bias in measuring the effectiveness of the policy. After running an empirical analysis based on several propensity score matching (psm) methods, we show that, at least partially, the positive results previously obtained may not be related to an effective success of the policy, but could …

Semantic web service discovery system for road traffic information services

2015

Create a multi-agent platform for a traveller information system (FIPA standards).Extend Paulucci algorithm with the use of seven similarity measures.Weight the similarity measure according to semantic relation and parameter nature.Improved running-time with a filtering pre-process for non-functional parameters.Improved the recall by measuring the sibling relationship concepts. We describe a multi-agent platform for a traveller information system, allowing travellers to find the road traffic information web service (WSs) that best fits their requirements. After studying existing proposals for discovery of semantic WS, we implemented a hybrid matching algorithm, which is described in detail …
