Some spectral mapping theorems through local spectral theory

2004

The spectral mapping theorems for Browder spectrum and for semi-Browder spectra have been proved by several authors [14], [29] and [33], by using different methods. We shall employ a local spectral argument to establish these spectral mapping theorems, as well as, the spectral mapping theorem relative to some other classical spectra. We also prove that ifT orT* has the single-valued extension property some of the more important spectra originating from Fredholm theory coincide. This result is extended, always in the caseT orT* has the single valued extension property, tof(T), wheref is an analytic function defined on an open disc containing the spectrum ofT. In the last part we improve a re…

Superstable cycles for antiferromagnetic Q-state Potts and three-site interaction Ising models on recursive lattices

2013

We consider the superstable cycles of the Q-state Potts (QSP) and the three-site interaction antiferromagnetic Ising (TSAI) models on recursive lattices. The rational mappings describing the models' statistical properties are obtained via the recurrence relation technique. We provide analytical solutions for the superstable cycles of the second order for both models. A particular attention is devoted to the period three window. Here we present an exact result for the third order superstable orbit for the QSP and a numerical solution for the TSAI model. Additionally, we point out a non-trivial connection between bifurcations and superstability: in some regions of parameters a superstable cyc…

Some Common Fixed Point Results in Cone Metric Spaces

2009

We prove a result on points of coincidence and common fixed points for three self-mappings satisfying generalized contractive type conditions in cone metric spaces. We deduce some results on common fixed points for two self-mappings satisfying contractive type conditions in cone metric spaces. These results generalize some well-known recent results.

On distinguished polynomials and their projections

2012

We study projections and injections between projective tensor products spaces or spaces of polynomials and we show that the example of a polynomial constructed in (4), that is neither p-dominated nor compact, can be identified with the projection map of the symmetric tensor product onto the space. Also we give a characterization of the weak and quasi approximation properties on symmetric tensor products.

A poincar-bendixson theorem for analytic families of vector fields

1995

We provide a characterization of the limit periodic sets for analytic families of vector fields under the hypothesis that the first jet is non-vanishing at any singular point. Also, applying the family desingularization method, we reduce the complexity of some of these sets.

A Hake-Type Theorem for Integrals with Respect to Abstract Derivation Bases in the Riesz Space Setting

2015

Abstract A Kurzweil-Henstock type integral with respect to an abstract derivation basis in a topological measure space, for Riesz space-valued functions, is studied. A Hake-type theorem is proved for this integral, by using technical properties of Riesz spaces.

Solvability of integrodifferential problems via fixed point theory in b-metric spaces

2015

The purpose of this paper is to study the existence of solutions set of integrodifferential problems in Banach spaces. We obtain our results by using fixed point theorems for multivalued mappings, under new contractive conditions, in the setting of complete b-metric spaces. Also, we present a data dependence theorem for the solutions set of fixed point problems.

The aim of this paper is to prove the existence of infinitely many weak solu- tions for a mixed boundary value system with (p1, . . . , pm)-Laplacian. The approach is based on variational methods.

A density problem for Sobolev spaces on Gromov hyperbolic domains

2017

We prove that for a bounded domain $\Omega\subset \mathbb R^n$ which is Gromov hyperbolic with respect to the quasihyperbolic metric, especially when $\Omega$ is a finitely connected planar domain, the Sobolev space $W^{1,\,\infty}(\Omega)$ is dense in $W^{1,\,p}(\Omega)$ for any $1\le p<\infty$. Moreover if $\Omega$ is also Jordan or quasiconvex, then $C^{\infty}(\mathbb R^n)$ is dense in $W^{1,\,p}(\Omega)$ for $1\le p<\infty$.
