Challenges of automatic processing of large amount of skin lesion multispectral data

This work will describe the challenges involved in setting up automatic processing for a large differentiated data set. In this study, a multispectral (skin diffuse reflection images using 526nm (green), 663nm (red), and 964nm (infrared) illumination and autofluorescence (AF) image using 405 nm excitation) data set with 756 lesions (3024 images) was processed. Previously, using MATLAB software, finding markers, correctly segmenting images with dark edges and image alignment were the main causes of the problems in automatic data processing. A matlab toolbox for music information retrieval

We present MIRToolbox, an integrated set of functions written in Matlab, dedicated to the extraction from audio files of musical features related, among others, to timbre, tonality, rhythm or form. The objective is to offer a state of the art of computational approaches in the area of Music Information Retrieval (MIR). The design is based on a modular framework: the different algorithms are decomposed into stages, formalized using a minimal set of elementary mechanisms, and integrating different variants proposed by alternative approaches — including new strategies we have developed —, that users can select and parametrize. These functions can adapt to a large area of objects as input.

El software desarrollado está organizado como una librería de Matlab que permite crear automáticamente bases de preguntas para la creación de cuestionarios compatibles con el formato de Aula Virtual. Para crear bases de datos de preguntas, sólo hay que programar una función base que resuelva la pregunta tipo test que se desea crear en la base de datos. A 9-level three-phase multilevel converter with harmonic mitigation and integrated battery balancing

In this paper, a 9 level three-phase multilevel converter with a harmonic mitigation control method and an integrated battery balancing algorithm for automotive purpose is proposed. Each level of the converter is composed by a buck-boost converter and an h-bridge in cascaded connection. The control algorithm is implemented to achieve the harmonic mitigation on the output voltage waveform and to maintain the battery input voltages balanced. The design and operation of the system is described, and simulation study is reported using Matlab/Simulink platform.

Software for simulating dichromatic perception of video streams

We have designed a configurable stand-alone Matlab-based software to simulate dichromatic perception of video streams. The algorithm used is an extension for video streams of the “corresponding pair algorithm” by Capilla and coworkers for simulation of dichromatic perception of images. The software allows the user to upload a video sequence and to process it using different dichromatic color vision models and viewing conditions. The output video may be generated in different spatial and temporal resolutions and file formats.
