Quantitative Evaluation of INTACMATO
2011
The main purpose of the empirical study which we present in this chapter is to evaluate the IIMT-prototype (INTACMATO). INTACMATO is evaluated across the criteria: perceived ease of use (effort), perceived usefulness, shopping enjoyment, confidence, and satisfaction. The results show that – compared to a control group of more than 30 students who just saw a product-comparison matrix without any IIMTs – the web store with INTACMATO was evaluated more positively across all five evaluation criteria.
Application of the ADR method for the evaluation of the scattering matrix of an open ended coaxial
2007
The use of ADR method for locating poles near the real axis is proposed when the scattering matrix for an open ended coaxial is analysed radiating over a multilayer structure ended in a perfect electrical wall. So a better and faster integral evaluation is made once the subintegral function behaviour is known.
Validation of matrix diffusion modeling
2010
Abstract Crystalline rock has been chosen as the host medium for repository of highly radioactive spent nuclear fuel in Finland. Radionuclide transport takes place along water-carrying fractures, and matrix diffusion has been indicated as an important retarding mechanism that affects the transport of mobile fission and activation products. The model introduced here for matrix diffusion contains a flow channel facing a porous matrix with stagnant water into which tracer molecules advected in the channel can diffuse. In addition, the possibility of a finite depth of the matrix and an initial tracer distribution (‘contamination’) in the matrix are included in the model. In order to validate th…
NoteAbout the Concept of “Net Multipliers”
2002
Net multipliers, as introduced by Oosterhaven and Stelder (2002) accept outputs as entries instead of final demand. They are found by multiplying ordinary multipliers by the final demand ratio over the sector’s output. This pragmatic solution suffers from ratio instability over time. The alternative net multipliers proposed here are based on the interpretation of the Leontief inverse matrix for the effects generated at each round. The new solution is not sensitive to the size of impacts. Now net multiplier is equal to the corresponding ordinary multiplier minus one, and the ordering of multipliers is unchanged.

Experimental and numerical study of a fibre/matrix interface of SiC/titanium composites
1998
High resolution in currents reconstruction applying the extrapolation matrix and spectrum replies
2007
A faster method for the reconstruction of currents has been proposed. For this a new algorithm has been used which extrapolates a 2D signal in less time than the iterative method of Papoulis. Results exposed in this paper show the likeness of the reconstructed currents with the new algorithm with those of the iterative method and the improvement that might be obtained in these new currents with regard to the iterative one. Furthermore, results show the higher speed of the new matrix method.

Method for Computing Scattering Matrices
2021
Chapter 4 presents statement and justification of a method for approximate computing a waveguide scattering matrix. As an approximation to a row of such a matrix, a minimizer of a quadratic functional is suggested. To construct the functional, one has to solve a boundary value problem in a bounded domain obtained by cutting off the cylindrical ends of the waveguide at distance R. The minimizer tends to the scattering matrix row at exponential rate as R increases to infinity.
A Linear Cost Algorithm to Compute the Discrete Gabor Transform
2010
In this paper, we propose an alternative efficient method to calculate the Gabor coefficients of a signal given a synthesis window with a support of size much lesser than the length of the signal. The algorithm uses the canonical dual of the window (which does not need to be calculated beforehand) and achieves a computational cost that is linear with the signal length in both analysis and synthesis. This is done by exploiting the block structure of the matrices and using an ad hoc Cholesky decomposition of the Gabor frame matrix.
