A Social Accounting Matrix for Spain in 1995 (MCS-95) is shown in this paper. This new data base contains some novelties in relation to the earlier MCS-90, both in the methodology applied and in the use of new data sources. As to the methodological innovation, the new input output framework of the European Accounting system (SEC-95) is used in the construction of the MCS-95. Also the estimation procedure and the adjustment of some of the accounts is made applying a method based on minimum entropy. Cytochalasin B selectively releases ovalbumin mRNA precursors but not the mature ovalbumin mRNA from hen oviduct nuclear matrix

Hen oviduct nuclear matrix-bound mature ovalbumin mRNA is released from the matrix in the presence of ATP, while the ovalbumin mRNA precursors remain bound to this structure. Detachment of the mature mRNA from the matrix by ATP as well as ATP-dependent efflux of mRNA from isolated nuclei were found to be inhibited by cytochalasin B. On the other hand, in the absence of ATP, cytochalasin B exclusively caused the release (and nucleocytoplasmic efflux) of the ovalbumin messenger precursors, but not of the mature mRNA. After cytochalasin B treatment, actin could be detected in the matrix supernatant. Phalloidin which stabilizes actin filaments did not cause RNA liberation in the absence of ATP,…
Gas transport through polymer membranes and free volume percolation

We consider the influence of structural and dynamical properties of a polymer membrane on the gas transport through this matrix. The diffusant and the polymer only interact through repulsive interactions. In the case of a glassy polymer, when one can consider the matrix as frozen, the gas particle diffusion is determined by the free volume structure of the system. We show how the percolation properties of the free volume show up in a subdiffusive behavior of the diffusant. When one takes matrix mobility into account the ideal percolation transition vanishes but its trace can still be found in a subdiffusive regime in the gas particle mean square displacement. Abstract Glyphosate and other polar and acidic pesticides have been particularly studied due to the concerns over widespread and intensive use. The chemical properties of these compounds necessitate use of customised methods, such as derivatisation or ion exchange chromatography. These approaches present a compatibility problem with ESI-MS due to presence of salts and non-volatile compounds. Higher order statistics of the response of MDOF linear systems excited by linearly parametric white noises and external excitations

The aim of this paper is the evaluation of higher order statistics of the response of linear systems subjected to external excitations and to linearly parametric white noise. The external excitations considered are deterministic or filtered white noise processes. The procedure implies the knowledge of the transition matrix connected to the linear system; this, however, has already been evaluated for obtaining the statistics at single times. The method, which avoids making further integrations for the evaluation of the higher order statistics, is very advantageous from a computational point of view.
Higher order statistics of the response of MDOF linear systems under polynomials of filtered normal white noises

This paper exploits the work presented in the companion paper in order to evaluate the higher order statistics of the response of linear systems excited by polynomials of filtered normal processes. In fact, by means of a variable transformation, the original system is replaced by a linear one excited by external and linearly parametric white noise excitations. The transition matrix of the new enlarged system is obtained simply once the transition matrices of the original system and of the filter are evaluated. The method is then applied in order to evaluate the higher order statistics of the approximate response of nonlinear systems to which the pseudo-force method is applied.

Abstract : A method is presented for the calculation of lower bounds to eigenvalues of operators that arise from variational problems for one quadratic form relative to a positive definite quadratic form. Eigenvalue problems of this kind occur, for example, in the theory of buckling of continuous linear elastic systems. The technique used is a modification of one introduced earlier, (1) sections II and IVB, for the determination of lower bounds to eigenvalues of semi-bounded self-adjoint operators. A thermodynamic approach to nonlocal plasticity and related variational principles

Elastic-plastic rate-independent materials with isotropic hardening/softening of nonlocal nature are considered in the context of small displacements and strains. A suitable thermodynamic framework is envisaged as a basis of a nonlocal associative plasticity theory in which the plastic yielding laws comply with a (nonlocal) maximum intrinsic dissipation theorem. Additionally, the rate response problem for a (continuous) set of (macroscopic) material particles, subjected to a given total strain rate field, is discussed and shown to be characterized by a minimum principle in terms of plastic coefficient. Direct stiffness matrices of BEs in the Galerkin BEM formulation

Abstract In the analysis of an elastic two-dimensional solid body by means of the Symmetric Galerkin Boundary Element Method (SGBEM), difficulties arise in the computation of some terms of the solving system coefficients. In fact these coefficients are expressed as double integrals with singularities of order 1/ r 2 , r being the distance between the field and source points. In order to compute these coefficients a strategy based on Schwartz's distribution theory is employed. In this paper the direct stiffness matrix related to the generic node of the free boundary are computed in closed form.
Higher order statistics of the response of linear systems excited by polynomials of filtered Poisson pulses

The higher order statistics of the response of linear systems excited by polynomials of filtered Poisson pulses are evaluated by means of knowledge of the first order statistics and without any further integration. This is made possible by a coordinate transformation which replaces the original system by a quasi-linear one with parametric Poisson delta-correlated input; and, for these systems, a simple relationship between first order and higher order statistics is found in which the transition matrix of the dynamical new system, incremented by the correction terms necessary to apply the Ito calculus, appears.
