We study the effects over the coordination between firms of the choice of another objectivefunction for the firm: the profit rate maximization which seems to be closer to business practice than the classical pure profit maximization. In-situ monitoring by Raman spectroscopy of the thermal doping of graphene and MoS2 in O-2-controlled atmosphere

The effects of temperature and atmosphere (air and O2) on the doping of monolayers of graphene (Gr) on SiO2 and Si substrates, and on the doping of MoS2 multilayer flakes transferred on the same substrates have been investigated. The investigations were carried out by in situ micro-Raman spectroscopy during thermal treatments up to 430 °C, and by atomic force microscopy (AFM). The spectral positions of the G and 2D Raman bands of Gr undergo only minor changes during treatment, while their amplitude and full width at half maximum (FWHM) vary as a function of the temperature and the used atmosphere. Singular Double Phase Problems with Convection

We consider a nonlinear Dirichlet problem driven by the sum of a $p$ -Laplacian and of a $q$ -Laplacian (double phase equation). In the reaction we have the combined effects of a singular term and of a gradient dependent term (convection) which is locally defined. Using a mixture of variational and topological methods, together with suitable truncation and comparison techniques, we prove the existence of a positive smooth solution.
Positive solutions for nonlinear Robin problems with convection

We consider a nonlinear Robin problem driven by the p-Laplacian and with a convection term f(z,x,y). Without imposing any global growth condition on f(z,·,·) and using topological methods (the Leray-Schauder alternative principle), we show the existence of a positive smooth solution.
Propagation of uncertainties in the Skyrme energy-density-functional model

Parameters of nuclear energy-density-functionals (EDFs) are always derived by an optimization to experimental data. For the minima of appropriately defined penalty functions, a statistical sensitivity analysis provides the uncertainties of the EDF parameters. To quantify theoretical errors of observables given by the model, we studied the propagation of uncertainties within the UNEDF0 Skyrme-EDF approach. We found that typically the standard errors rapidly increase towards neutron rich nuclei. This can be linked to large uncertainties of the isovector coupling constants of the currently used EDFs.
Simulated annealing with restrained molecular dynamics using a flexible restraint potential: Theory and evaluation with simulated NMR constraints

A new functional representation of NMR-derived distance constraints, the flexible restraint potential, has been implemented in the program CONGEN (Bruccoleri RE, Karplus M, 1987, Biopolymers 26:137-168) for molecular structure generation. In addition, flat-bottomed restraint potentials for representing dihedral angle and vicinal scalar coupling constraints have been introduced into CONGEN. An effective simulated annealing (SA) protocol that combines both weight annealing and temperature annealing is described. Radiation damage in zircon

A single, zoned, Sri Lankan zircon exhibits a range of microstructures from crystalline to nearly amorphous that are the result of radiation damage over a dose range of 2.1–10.1·1015 α-decay events/mg (0.16–0.47 dpa). The zones in the crystal were examined at a variety of length scales using optical microscopy, micro-Raman spectroscopy, electron microprobe analysis, and transmission electron microscopy. Birefringence varies linearly with dose: birefringence = −4.71·10−18 /g· D α + 4.86·10−2. Photoluminescence excited by ArF and KrF lasers and optical absorption of stishovite mono-crystal

Two photoluminescence bands were found in a stishovite (silicon dioxide) mono-crystal sample under ArF (193 nm) and KrF (248 nm) excitation. The blue band is situated at 3.17 ± 0.02 eV in the case of ArF and at 3 ± 0.2 in the case of KrF. The UV band is at 4.55 ± 0.05 eV in the case of ArF and at 4.5 ± 0.05 eV in the case of KrF. The position of the UV emission band correlates with that excited by x rays. This position is 4.6 ± 0.05 eV with FWHM 0.8 ± 0.05 eV (Truhins et al 2003 Solid State Commun. 127 415). The blue band possesses slow decay kinetics with time constant 16 ± 2 µs and the UV band is fast on the level of 2 ± 0.5 ns, similarly for both lasers. Thermal quenching of both bands b…
Coupled rotational and translational modes in the mixed molecular crystal KBr1?x (CN) x

TheE g andT 2g acoustic phonon modes of the molecular crystals KBr0.96(CN)0.04 and KBr0.86(CN)0.14 have been investigated by inelastic neutron scattering at 6, 90 and 300 K. Clear resonances due to mode-mode coupling to molecular excitations were observed. In complementary ultrasonic experiments the elastic constants were found to pass through minima as a function of temperature. The results were quantitavely explained by a model which assumes simple forms of the molecular excitation spectrum. An alternative interpretation, though being only qualitative, postulates a freezing of the CN molecules into a glass-like phase.
(Z)-4-(2-Naphthylamino)pent-3-en-2-one

The title compound, C15H15NO, which was synthesized under solvent-free conditions by the reaction of acetoacetone and 2-naphthylamine, adopts a Z conformation about the C=C bond. The enamine–ketone fragment is approximately planar [maximum deviation = 0.026 (3) Å] and forms a dihedral angle of 39.78 (3)° with the naphthalene ring system. An intramolecular N—H...O hydrogen bond is observed.
