Toward an urban transport sustainability index: an European comparison

Introduction The aim of paper is to cluster policies of sustainable mobility in order to define an essential set of specific Transport Performance Indicators (TPI). TPIs are standardized measures suitable for analysis in order to appraise the feasibility of a transport policy or an infrastructural project. Data collection of TPIs is a crucial phase, but data detection and monitoring are not standardized at the city level. First mass measurement at JYFLTRAP

The first mass measurements at JYFLTRAP facility are reviewed. Those are also first ever direct mass measurements of the heaviest Zr-isotopes. Results are compared to atomic mass evaluation data and the recent calculations. The first TOF-resonances from high-precision trap and an implication to high-precision mass measurements are discussed.
Correction for aerosol effects on satellite sea surface temperature measurements

Estimation of Sea Surface Temperature (SST) from split- window algorithms for NOAA-AVHRR data can be determined with rms values of 0.7 K on a global basis. However, this figure is not compatible with the stringent accuracy of 0.3 K required by climate studies. Among the different sources of errors, the presence of tropospheric aerosols in the satellite field of view prevents the retrieval of accurate satellite SSTs. Still, the effect of aerosols on temperature measurements derived from remote sensing techniques has been traditionally overlooked. The removal of U(VI) as uranyl (UO22+) from aqueous solutions was investigated by sorption onto alginate based material. The hydrolysis of uranyl ion was always taken into account in the calculations of free (22UO) ion in aqueous solution, in the experimental pH range considered, as well as the acid-base properties of alginate polymer. The sorption process follows a pseudo-second order kinetic model and the sorption rate decreases when the pH value increases. Recently, many investigations were carried out in order to check the applicability of both close-range and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) photogrammetry to measure soil erosion processes. For measuring rill erosion occurring on a 22 m long and 26% sloped plot occurred on 24 October 2016 at the Sparacia experimental area, a terrestrial photographic relief and a low altitude aerial relief were carried out by no-professional quadricopter and camera. We present a high resolution 3D ultrasonic tomography to one of the most important statues of the Regional Gallery of Palazzo Abatellis of Palermo, the bust of Eleonora d'Aragona by F. The marine ecosystem on the eastern shelf of the Antarctic Peninsula was surveyed 5 and 12 years after the climate-induced collapse of the Larsen A and B ice shelves. An impoverished benthic fauna was discovered, that included deep-sea species presumed to be remnants from ice-covered conditions. The current structure of various ecosystem components appears to result from extremely different response rates to the change from an oligotrophic sub-ice-shelf ecosystem to a productive shelf ecosystem. Spectral identification of forced oscillation in PMU signal using mode decomposition

This article gives a new method to identify the frequency of Forced Oscillation (FO) in phasor measurement units (PMUs) signals. The processing of the signal by Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) technique leads to effective detection with improvement in accuracy. After testing some improved versions of EMD, it is observed that ‘improved Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise (CEEMDAN-2014)’ is the best version to use in processing. The developed methodology is able to spot the frequency of FOs even if there exist multiple modes with mode mixing and multiple events. In such cases, self-coherence method fails to spot FO.
