A Model for Implementing HR'S Strategic Role
2013
Understanding HR deliverables is an essential process for acknowledging its important role in driving organizational performance, in contrast with its traditionally elusive role. An organization can quantify the HR’s overall strategic impact by finding the proper ways for measuring its impact on the success drivers. This paper aims to identify and describe the steps needed in order to implement HR’s strategic role. The article reviews the relevant literature regarding the integration of HR into business performance measurement and suggests some guidelines for creating a HR scorecard.

Estimating field-saturated soil hydraulic conductivity by a simplified Beerkan infiltration experiment
2014
Field-saturated soil hydraulic conductivity, Kfs, is highly variable. Therefore, interpreting and simulating hydrological processes, such as rainfall excess generation, need a large number of Kfs data even at the plot scale. Simple and reasonably rapid experiments should be carried out in the field. In this investigation, a simple infiltration experiment with a ring inserted shortly into the soil and the estimation of the so-called a* parameter allowed to obtain an approximate measurement of Kfs. The theoretical approach was tested with reference to 149 sampling points established on Burundian soils. The estimated Kfs with the value of first approximation of a* for most agricultural field s…
Anomalous performance enhancement effects in Ruthenium-based Dye Sensitized Solar Cells
2017
Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) are nowadays more and more employed since they present lower production costs than traditional silicon photovoltaic devices. An interesting phenomenon affecting such devices consists in the fact that current density-voltage (J-V) characteristic can depend on the history of the cell prior to the measurement, which often can be assimilated to an anomalous hysteresis effect. In this work, we study such phenomenon on Ruthenium-based DSSCs through a series of measurements performed after applying different values of external electrical field to the cell. The measurements have been carried out both under simulated sunlight (AM1.5G - 1000 W/m2) and in the dark. W…
Ero ja immersio. Tutkimus artefaktin ongelmasta ja aineellisen ja käsitteellisen välisistä suhteista
2021
Tutkimus on kulttuurifilosofinen ja kulttuurintutkimuksellinen väitöskirja aineellisen artefaktin ongelmasta ja filosofinen tutkimus aineellisen mieltämisen ehdoista. Ihmistekoisen statuksen uudelleen arvioinnin pohjalta kehitän siinä uuden tavan ajatella aineellista ja ruumiillista. Historiallisesti suhteellisen nuoreen artefaktin käsitteeseen on tullut materiaalisuuksien kasvun myötä sen painon sivuuttavaa itsestäänselvyyttä, kuten tapahtui ikivanhalle olemisen käsitteelle Martin Heideggerin käänteentekevän huomion mukaan. Käsitteen neutraloituminen onkin siitä välittymättömän aineellisuuden neutraloitumista, mitä kutsun konstituutioharhaksi. Konstituutioharha on modernissa vallitseva tap…
Anomalous and normal Hall effect in hydrogenated amorphous Si prepared by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition
2010
The double sign anomaly of the Hall coefficient has been studied in p -doped and n -doped hydrogenated amorphous silicon grown by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition and annealed up to 500 °C. Dark conductivity as a function of temperature has been measured, pointing out a conduction mechanism mostly through the extended states. Anomalous Hall effect has been observed only in the as-deposited n -doped film, disappearing after annealing at 500 °C, while p -doped samples exhibit normal Hall effect. When Hall anomaly is present, a larger optical band gap and a greater Raman peak associated with Si-H bond are measured in comparison with the cases of normal Hall effect. The Hall anomaly wi…
Neutron flux and gamma dose measurement in the BNCT irradiation facility at the TRIGA reactor of the University of Pavia
2018
Abstract University of Pavia is equipped with a TRIGA Mark II research nuclear reactor, operating at a maximum steady state power of 250 kW. It has been used for many years to support Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) research. An irradiation facility was constructed inside the thermal column of the reactor to produce a sufficient thermal neutron flux with low epithermal and fast neutron components, and low gamma dose. In this irradiation position, the liver of two patients affected by hepatic metastases from colon carcinoma were irradiated after borated drug administration. The facility is currently used for cell cultures and small animal irradiation. Measurements campaigns have been ca…
Institutionalization of Strategy and Management Accounting Change in a Cooperative Bank
2019
In this longitudinal case study, a cooperative bank’s strategy, related performance management changes, institutionalization processes, and change drivers are studied. Old institutional economics is used in explaining how organizational routines and rules change and become taken for granted. However, there are several internal and external drivers of change in the banking sector, including organizational culture and values, EU regulation, digitalization as well as communicational gaps and power relations among organizational levels affecting the success of the change process. Results indicate that in the case bank, operating in a highly institutionalized and regulated environment, not many …

Twenty Years of Airborne Water Vapor and Total Water Measurements of a Diode Laser Based Photoacoustic Instruments
2020
We present relevant issues collected over twenty years of development and operation of an airborne water vapour / total water detector based on photoacoustic spectroscopy. The WaSulHygro instrument possesses high selectivity, short response time, and wide dynamic range, that are key requirements against trace gas measurement systems for applications in atmospheric sciences. Besides the major properties of WaSul-Hygro we discuss our efforts to develop a robust instruments that have proved its long-term reliability over the last fifteen years operating on-board a commercial aircraft within the framework of the CARIBIC project.2
