Reflexiones sobre la concurrencia de violencia económica en el contexto de familia : impacto y mecanismos para su neutralización

2021

Through this work we carry out a dissertation on the phenomenon of economic violence, as a manifestation of gender violence, in the family context, and, especially, from the perspective of the divorce framework. We will analyze the harmful effects that it produces, the damage that it triggers on the most basic and essential interests of the family, and its use as a control mechanism by the aggressors. In addition to a vision of the different mechanisms that, enshrined in our legal system, serve to distort it.

An X-ray characterization of the central region of the supernova remnant G332.5-5.6

2015

Aims. We present an X-ray analysis of the central region of supernova remnant (SNR) G332.5-5.6 through an exhaustive analysis of XMM-Netwon observations with complementary infrared observations. We characterize and discuss the origin of the observed X-ray morphology, which presents a peculiar plane edge over the west side of the central region. Methods. The morphology and spectral properties of the X-ray SNR were studied using a single full frame XMM-Netwon observation in the 0.3 to 10.0 keV energy band. Archival infrared WISE observations at 8, 12 and 24 μm were also used to investigate the properties of the source and its surroundings at different wavelengths. Results. The results show th…

On the location of the supermassive black hole in CTA102

2015

Relativistic jets in active galactic nuclei represent one of the most powerful phenomena in the Universe. They form in the surroundings of the supermassive black holes as a by-product of accretion onto the central black hole in active galaxies. The flow in the jets propagates at velocities close to the speed of light. The distance between the first part of the jet that is visible in radio images (core) and the black hole is still a matter of debate. Only very-long-baseline interferometry observations resolve the innermost compact regions of the radio jet. Those can access the jet base, and combining data at different wavelenghts, address the physical parameters of the outflow from its emiss…

How salience enhances inhibitory control : An analysis of electro-cortical mechanisms

2023

Stop-signal tasks (SSTs) combined with human electro-cortical recordings (Event-Related Potentials, ERPs) have revealed mechanisms associated with successful stopping (relative to failed), presumably contributing to inhibitory control. The corresponding ERP signatures have been labeled stop N1 (+/- 100-ms latency), stop N2 (200 ms), and stop P3 (160–250 ms), and argued to reflect more sensory-specific (N1) versus more generic (N2, P3) mechanisms. However, stop N1 and stop N2, as well as latencies of stop-P3, appear to be quite inconsistent across studies. The present work addressed the possible influence of stop-signal salience, expecting high salience to induce clear stop N1s but reduced s…

DFT insights into the oxygen-assisted selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol on manganese dioxide catalysts

2020

Abstract The reactivity pattern of the MnO2 catalyst in the selective aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol is assessed by density functional theory (DFT) analysis of adsorption energies and activation barriers on a model Mn4O8 cluster. DFT calculations predict high reactivity of defective Mn(IV) sites ruling a surface redox mechanism, L-H type, involving gas-phase oxygen. Bare and promoted (i.e., CeOx and FeOx) MnOx materials with high surface exposure of Mn(IV) sites were synthesized to assess kinetic and mechanistic issues of the selective aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol on real catalysts (T, 333–363 K). According to DFT predictions, the experimental study shows: i) comparable activity…

Synthesis of branched polyethylenes by the tandem catalysis of silica-supported linked cyclopentadienyl-amido titanium catalysts and a homogeneous di…

2003

The synthesis of branched polyethylenes by ethylene polymerization with new tandem catalyst systems consisting of methylaluminoxane-preactivated linked cyclopentadienyl-amido titanium catalysts [Ti(η5:η1-C5Me4SiMe2NR)Cl2 (R = Me or tBu)] supported on pyridylethylsilane-modified silica (PySTiNMe and PySTiNtBu) and homogeneous dibromo nickel catalyst having a pyridyl-2,6-diisopropylphenylimine ligand (PyminNiBr2) in the presence of modified methylaluminoxane was investigated. Ethylene polymerization with only PyminNiBr2 yielded a mixture of 1- and 2-olefin oligomers with methyl branches [weight-average molecular weight (Mw) ∼ 460)] with a ratio of about 1:7. By the combination of this nickel …

Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Ethanol on Gold : Combination of Kinetic Experiments and Computation Approach to Unravel the Reaction Mechanism

2021

Abstract Selective alcohol dehydrogenation on heterogeneous catalysts is a key industrial reaction for production of aldehydes, ketones, and carboxylic compounds. Design of catalysts with improved activity and selectivity requires understanding of the reaction mechanism and kinetics. Herein, experiments, density functional theory (DFT) and kinetic modelling were combined to elucidate the mechanism and kinetics of ethanol oxidative dehydrogenation to acetaldehyde on gold catalysts. Catalytic experiments clearly emphasized the role of oxygen in this reaction. Ethanol conversion was rather independent on the gold cluster size. Formation of minor products, acetic acid and ethyl acetate was stru…

THE OCCURRENCE OF CHROMIUM IN RAW MATERIALS AND ITS FATE IN THE BREWING PROCESS

1987

The chromium content of raw materials, intermediate and final products in the brewing process were determined in order to evaluate the contribution of raw materials to the chromium content of beer. The contribution due to beer in the diet is considered in the light of the recommended daily intake of chromium.
