Novel Digital Technique to Quantify the Area and Volume of Cement Remaining and Enamel Removed after Fixed Multibracket Appliance Therapy Debonding: …
2020
The aim of this study was to construct a novel, repeatable, reproducible, and accurate measurement protocol for the area and volume of the remaining cement after removal of fixed multibracket appliances, the area and volume of remaining cement after cement removal, the area and volume of enamel removed after cement removal, and the volume of cement used to adhere fixed multibracket appliances. A total of 30 brackets were cemented and removed with over 30 extracted teeth embedded into three experimental models of epoxy resin. The models were scanned before and after bracket placement, bracket debonding, and polishing the remaining cement. The brackets were submitted to micro-computed tomogra…
Il trattamento chirurgico con vite cannulata e PRP della pseudoartrosi dello scafoide carpale
2013
Nonunion is an important complication of carpal navicular fractures. The aim of this study is to report the medium term results of a reconstruction technique with cannulated screw combined with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in Herbert fractures C (late consolidation), D1 (fibrous union without deformity) and D2 (pseudarthrosis with initial deformity).
uvby{beta} photometry of h and chi Per
2002
We present CCD uvby{beta} photometry for stars in the nuclei of the young double cluster {h} and {chi} Persei. We find that the reddening is highly variable through the {h} Per nucleus, increasing from west to east, with values ranging from E(b-y)=0.328+/-0.022 in the western part to E(b-y)=0.465+/-0.025 in the south-east. Towards {chi} Persei the reddening is fairly constant, with E(b-y)=0.398+/-0.025. Both clusters share a common distance modulus of 11.7+/-0.1mag, and an age of logt=7.10+/-0.05 years. NW Ser and V1446 Aql uvby light curves
2007
We present accurate photometric time series of two Be stars: NW Ser and V1446 Aql. Both stars were observed at the Observatorio de Sierra Nevada (Granada) in July 2003 with an automatic four-channel Stroemgren photometer. We also present a preliminary theoretical study showing that the periodic variations exhibited by these stars can be due to pulsation.
Ones superficials de Dyakonov en metamaterials
2016
International activities of knowledge-intensive small- and medium-sized enterprises: The example of an open source software firm
2009
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to develop a framework that explains international activities of open source software (OSS) firms. Design/methodology/approach: This paper reviews relevant literature related to international operations of knowledge-intensive firms, especially in the software industry. Theoretical development is based here on a combination of the network approach, international new venture theory and inward–outward internationalization. Findings: The findings in this study suggest that the international activities of OSS firms can be divided into project activities and business activities. Project activities include inward and outward linkages, and partner identificatio…
Copper Induces a Core Plasmon in Intermetallic Au(144,145)–xCux(SR)60 Nanoclusters
2015
The electronic structure and optical absorption spectra of intermetallic thiol-stabilized gold-copper clusters, having 144-145 metal atoms and 60 thiols, were studied by ab initio computations. The widely known icosahedral-based cluster model from the work of Lopez-Acevedo et al. (2009) was used, and clusters doped with one to 30 copper atoms were considered. When doped inside the metal core, copper induces dramatic changes in the optical spectrum as compared to the previously studied all-gold Au144(SR)60. An intense broad absorption peak develops in the range 535-587 nm depending on the amount of doping and doping sites. This result agrees very well with recent experiments by the Dass grou…
Single Crystal Sub‐Nanometer Sized Cu6(SR)6 Clusters: Structure, Photophysical Properties, and Electrochemical Sensing
2016
Organic ligand-protected metal nanoclusters have attracted extensively attention owing to their atomically precise composition, determined atom-packing structure and the fascinating properties and promising applications. To date, most research has been focused on thiol-stabilized gold and silver nanoclusters and their single crystal structures. Here the single crystal copper nanocluster species (Cu6(SC7H4NO)6) determined by X-ray crystallography and mass spectrometry is presented. The hexanuclear copper core is a distorted octahedron surrounded by six mercaptobenzoxazole ligands as protecting units through a simple bridging bonding motif. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations provide…
Structure ofD-ribonic acid-dimethyltin(IV) in coordinating solvents: an experimental and DFT119Sn NMR study
2006
We have investigated a newly synthesized complex of D-ribonic acid with dimethyltin(IV). The structure of the complex in solution has been characterized by means of 1 H, 13 C, and 119 Sn NMR and by DFT calculations. The comparison of experimental and computational results allowed the determination of the stable conformation in solution as well as the detection of a dimerization process. Moreover, evidence is given of active coordination of the metal by the solvent.
Speciation of dimethyltin(IV) – and trimethyltin(IV) – carbocysteinate and – glutamate systems in aqueous media
2008
The formation of complex species in the dimethyltin(IV) and trimethyltin(IV)-carboxymethyl-L-cysteinate (carbocysteinate) systems in NaClaq, at different ionic strengths, and in a multicomponent Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Cl- and SO42- medium representative of the seawater major composition, is discussed. Experimental results give evidence for the formation of the following species (L¼carbocysteinate): [(CH3)2Sn(L)]0, [(CH3)2Sn(HL)]+, [(CH3)2Sn(OH)(L)]-, [(CH3)2Sn(OH)2(L)]2- in the DMT–CCYS system, and [(CH3)3Sn(HL)]0, [(CH3)3Sn(L)]- and [(CH3)3Sn(OH)(L)]2- in the TMT-CCYS system. The ionic strength dependence of formation constants was taken into account by an extended Debye Huckel type equation…
