Memory, which has always been a subject of research and reflection, entered by right with Émile Durkheim and Marcel Mauss into the space of 'total social facts', i.e. the group of those aspects of human behaviour that support the ideological structure of social universes and regulate the capacity to perform a given action, regardless of intentionality, of both individuals and groups. What emerges is the problematic nature of the very nature of memory and its relationship to history and historians.

This paper proposes some reflections on the problem of political ingratitude in international relations, particularly in the context of an imminent or already ongoing war. Recalling past benefits brings memory into play and emphasises the expectation produced by these benefits and the importance attached to the political obligations that should result from them. After providing some insights from Homer, attention will focus on Thucydides. Questa costante presenza fa sì che da elemento comune della dieta quotidiana, il sale divenga segno che alimenta la memoria della giustizia:il sale diviene perciò riferimento di un modello di vita fondato su relazioni armoniche, mentre la sua assenza conduce alla selvatichezza. The concepts of memory and experience have stimulated interest in a wide range of recent cultural studies. In the history of scholarship on religion in Mediterranean antiquity, scholars have focused on the emotional dimension of both terms by employing the concepts of ‚Christianity‘ and its derivative, ‚oriental religion‘. La cantina Rocca di Frassinello, progettata da Renzo Piano nel cuore della Maremma Toscana, costituisce uno dei massimi esempi di come la contemporaneità, nelle sue forme più essenziali, possa fondersi perfettamente con il paesaggio naturale circostante senza alterarne gli equilibri e la storia ma anzi valorizzandolo in maniera magistrale. Il centro pulsante della cantina è la grande barricaia ipogea nella quale riposano fino a 2.500 barriques di rovere francese disposte su gradinate digradanti. La particolare configurazione a gradoni della barricaia sembra richiamare l'impianto planimetrico di una forma architettonica legata all'antica Grecia, il bouleuterion. In this intervention the reading of the "praefatio" at the «Ystoriola Langobardorum Beneventum degentium» by Erchempert, a Lombard historian of the IXth century, is conducted. The examination allows us to observe, as a preliminary, a historian of the High Middle Ages at his “work table”, in the reference to the sources and models and, at the same time, in the clear awareness of the innovative elements that he proposes to highlight through the story of the tragic and fatal decline of the Lombard people of southern Italy. This contribution presents data and experiences acquired within the frame of the “Inclusion Project Linguistic School of Italian Language for Foreigners” of the University of Palermo. The program, created five years ago, has designed and managed educational courses for adults and unaccompanied minors (msna) of low and very low schooling level, most of them between 16 and 18 years old, and developed a series of social initiatives related to the insertion of these minors in Sicilian Society.
