Ho fem a partir del conjunt de la documentació sobre aquest personatge que fins ara ha estat descoberta als arxius, fonamentalment a l'Arxiu de la Corona d'Aragó, i també a partir de les notícies que apareixen en el conjunt de les seves obres sobre astrologia. Hem situat Tresbens en els seus orígens occitans, així com en el context de les activitats econòmiques, polítiques i socials durant el temps que el tenim documentat en terres de la Corona d'Aragó, mostrant l'home que hi ha al darrere de la més important obra astrològica en català. …

Abstract The Portuguese Ministry of Health performed five international recruitment rounds of Latin American physicians due to the need for physicians in certain geographic areas of the country and in some specialties, as a temporary solution to shortages. Among these recruitments is that of Colombian physicians in 2011 that was the largest of the five groups. This paper presents an evaluation of the international recruitment procedure of Colombian physicians based on the criteria of procedural outcomes and health system outcomes. The figure of king Jaume I the Conqueror is well-known, but few times his fundamental role when dealing with the first sanitary policies has been raised. Medicine, at the height of the 13th century, was experiencing a principal transformation that would mark its evolution during all the late Middle Ages. A partir das experiências dos/as médicos/as latino-americanos/as que exercem a sua profissão em Portugal e em Espanha, o artigo busca comparar o recrutamento internacional dos/as médicos/as, o reconhecimento das qualificações para o exercício da Medicina e os processos de integração profissional no sistema de saúde português e espanhol. Papel del médico de familia en el diagnóstico concomitante de mieloma y amiloidosis primaria en una misma paciente. Caso clínico

Multiple Myeloma is a myeloproliferative disorder of plasma cells, which may be complicated with secondary amyloidosis. We report a 48 year old woman consulting to primary care for weight loss and malaise. An initial laboratory study revealed a hypogammaglobulinemia with a monoclonal component and lambda light chains. These results motivated her derivation to hematology: her serum calcium was 11.8 mg/dl, immunofluorescence showed a monoclonal component of lambda chains and urine Bence-Jones protein was positive. A bone marrow biopsy confirmed plasma cell infiltration. A Congo-red stain of a rectal biopsy was positive. The patient was treated with thalidomide, bortezomid and dexamethasone.
