Comparing proton momentum distributions in A = 2 and 3 nuclei via 2H 3H and 3He (e,e′p) measurements

We report the first measurement of the $(e,e'p)$ reaction cross-section ratios for Helium-3 ($^3$He), Tritium ($^3$H), and Deuterium ($d$). The measurement covered a missing momentum range of $40 \le p_{miss} \le 550$ MeV$/c$, at large momentum transfer ($\langle Q^2 \rangle \approx 1.9$ (GeV$/c$)$^2$) and $x_B>1$, which minimized contributions from non quasi-elastic (QE) reaction mechanisms. The data is compared with plane-wave impulse approximation (PWIA) calculations using realistic spectral functions and momentum distributions. The measured and PWIA-calculated cross-section ratios for $^3$He$/d$ and $^3$H$/d$ extend to just above the typical nucleon Fermi-momentum ($k_F \approx 250$ …
Profit vs morality: how unfair is labor market discrimination? Results from a survey experiment

Using an original survey-experimental protocol, we study the normative acceptability of the trade-off between immoral profit (discrimination) and costly morality (non-discrimination). We test the causal influence of three factors: i) the origin of discrimination, ii) the steepness of the morality/profit trade-off and iii) anti-discriminatory moral injunctions. Contrasting with past experimental and attitudinal studies, we find that a significant minority of respondents believe that labor market discrimination is acceptable when morality results in profit loss. Tas ir izaicinājums skolotājiem, lai nodrošinātu iespējas skolēniem gūt reāla grupu darba pieredzi prasmju attīstībai. The text presents the development of the project method in Polish education throughout the last century. The project method was introduced in Poland afiter regaining independence, and (1918-1939) it was implemented during the inter-war period in some schools both in urban and rural environments. Nevertheless, the method was at that time treated as a pedagogical novelty and experiment rather than a natural part of school life. After 1945, education, as other aspects of socio-political life, was influenced by the communist propaganda, and the project method supporting autonomy, democracy and empowerment was not promoted as a valuable educational approach. A propeller low noise design procedure based on boundary integral equation is presented. The aerodynamic field is computed via a potential-based boundary element method for lifting body while the aeroacoustic emitted field is calculated on the basis of the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings equation. Families of airfoils sections are aerodynamically processed to select the ones that meet the requested performance. Successively, the airfoil sections characterized by the lowest noise emission, among the previously selected ones, are chosen to built the propeller blade. Collaborative problem solving (CPS) is widely recognized as a prominent 21st-century skill to be mastered. Until recently, research on CPS has often focused on problem solution by the individual; the interest in investigating how the theorized problem-solving constructs function as broader social units, such as pairs or small groups, is relatively recent.
