Agreement on the Choice of Non-applicable Law or Law not in Accordance with Article 22(1) of the Twin Regulations: what Consequences for the Couple’s…

2021

Occurrence of Fusarium mycotoxins in Italian cereal and cereal products from organic farming.

2013

In the present study, the occurrence of eighteen mycotoxins, nine trichothecenes (deoxynivalenol, 3-acetyl-deoxynivalenol, 15-acetyl-deoxynivalenol, nivalenol, neosolaniol, diacetoxyscirpenol, fusarenon-X, T-2 toxin and HT-2 toxin), three zearalenones (zearalenone, α-zearalenol and β-zearalenol), and six emergent mycotoxins, beauvericin and five enniatins (A, A1, B, B1 and B4), was monitored in different Italian organic cereals and cereal products by using a liquid chromatography coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry method. A total of 93 organic cereal samples (wheat, barley, rye and oat) were collected from Italy. Limits of quantification ranged from 5 to 15 μg/kg. 80% of analyze…

Use of Calcined Dolomite as Chemical Precipitant in the Simultaneous Removal of Ammonium and Phosphate from Synthetic Wastewater and from Agricultura…

2019

Phosphorus as phosphate and nitrogen as ammonium or nitrate are the main nutrients in wastewaters and agricultural sludges. They runoff easily to waterways and cause eutrophication in water bodies. However, ammonium and phosphate could be precipitated simultaneously and used as recycled nutrients. In this research, dolomite calcined at 650 &deg

Capital Regulation with Heterogeneous Banks

2013

We provide a general equilibrium analysis of potential consequences from the introduction of a binding leverage ratio, as proposed in Basel III. If banks differ in their monitoring skills and their ability to successfully complete a risky investment project, a tighter leverage ratio does not only mitigate moral hazard arising from limited liability, but also carries an unintended consequence: Banks are not allowed to absorb the entire supply of debt if they cannot raise new equity, which induces agents with a lower monitoring skill to open a bank. This decreases the average ability of operating banks. We further show that rising heterogeneity in the banking sector increases this negative ef…

Molecular phylogeny of parabasalids with emphasis on the order Cristamonadida and its complex morphological evolution

2009

1055-7903 doi: DOI: 10.1016/j.ympev.2009.03.011; Parabasalia represents a complex assemblage of species, which recently received extensive reorganization. The newly created order Cristamonadida unites complex hypermastigids belonging to the Lophomonadida like the joeniids, the multinucleate polymonad Calonymphidae, and well-developed trichomonads in the Devescovinidae. All these protists exclusively occur in the guts of termites and related insects. In this study, small subunit rRNA and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase genes were identified without cultivation from 14 species in Cristamonadida including previously unstudied genera such as Joenina, Joenia, Joenoides, Macrotrichomonas…

Intergenomic interactions affect female reproduction: evidence from introgression and inbreeding depression in a haplodiploid mite

2004

Nuclear and cytoplasmic genomes can coevolve antagonistically or harmoniously to affect fitness. One commonly used test for nuclear-cytoplasmic coadaptation relies on the breakup of coadapted gene complexes by introgression, potentially resulting in an increased frequency of nuclear alleles in deleterious interaction with an alien cytoplasm. We investigated the phenotypic effect of such genes on female reproduction in outbred and inbred introgressed lines of the haplodiploid mite Tetranychus urticae. Introgression changed female lifetime fecundity and increased male production, in ways suggesting a control of fecundity by nuclear genes. Conversely introgression reduced the fertilization rat…

Der meteorit von Breitscheid—III petrographische untersuchung

1959

Abstract The meteorite of Breitscheid is a grey-veined bronzite-olivine-chondrite containing nickel-iron and troilite. It has a remarkably high volume of pores of about 10 per cent. The density of the solid is 3·7, of the stone as a whole 3.3. The chondrules take about 20 per cent of the volume of the stone. The ore minerals are: nickel-iron (kamacite and taenite), troilite, chromite, ilmenite and besides, in the melting crust, magnetite. Especially ilmenite—until recently doubtful as a constituent of meteorites—could be proved in a convincing manner. The silicate constituents are: olivine, bronzite, clinopyroxene, plagioclase (?), glass and a few minerals which could not be identified. The…

Magnetic Properties Experiments on the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit at Gusev Crater

2004

The magnetic properties experiments are designed to help identify the magnetic minerals in the dust and rocks on Mars—and to determine whether liquid water was involved in the formation and alteration of these magnetic minerals. Almost all of the dust particles suspended in the martian atmosphere must contain ferrimagnetic minerals (such as maghemite or magnetite) in an amount of ∼2% by weight. The most magnetic fraction of the dust appears darker than the average dust. Magnetite was detected in the first two rocks ground by Spirit.
