Lire les lignes de la Ville
2017
Towards a local approach to fatigue, for the calculation of structures, applied to continuous fibre reinforced composite materials and structures
2018
The original concept of mechanical fatigue was linked to the failure of structures and was treated at first within the framework of Fracture Mechanics. Models developed to explain this phenomenon must therefore be able to be applied to structures: changing the structure means changes to the model and its identification. It is therefore judicious to develop models capable of treating both the damage processes and also able to be used within a local framework: to this end a method based on Damage Mechanics seems appropriate. This approach has long been employed and requires only the identification of damage processes at the level of the RVE (Representative Volume Element) to be used for any s…
Argumentative reasoning and taxonomic analysis for the identification of medical errors
2015
Telemedicine consists of the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the practice of medicine. The massive digitalisation of the society is changing the behaviour of ordinary people even in medical sectors. The impact of digitisation is also having impacts on teleexpertise, where a medical professional can remotely ask some advices through the use of ICTs to provide treatment to a patient in critical conditions in remote environment. However, sometimes the outcome of such advice obtained remotely can lead to medical errors. In these situations, it is important to determine whether the causes of the errors could have been avoidable or not for the purposes of establishing …

A new reading of Bronze Age funerary structures in Mongolia through the analysis of their architectural elements, arrangement and form
2022
The archaeological landscape of Mongolia is marked by the presence of numerous funerary monuments (khirigsuurs) and engraved stelae (deer stones), erected by nomadic populations at the end of the Bronze Age. The first observations indicate great regularity in the choice and arrangement of the architectural and iconographic elements at the time when these structures were built. This regularity suggests the existence of shared traditions and social coherence between nomadic communities in a territory covering almost twice that of France. The data available today do not provide sufficient perspective to establish social models at the level of a province, and even less so at the scale of the co…
Territories, identities and strategies in Forez from the sixth at the first front millenium BC in the upstream basin of the Loire (France)
2007
This thesis heading Territories, identities and strategies in Forez from the sixth at the first front millenium BC in the upstream basin of the Loire, relates to an extent in the north-Eastern part of the Massif central in contact with the Rhodanian corridor. This intramontane sector (current department of Loire 42) has allowed to build a consequent archaeological corpus which clarified behaviors having strong socio-economic and environmental implications. The archaeological study called upon various disciplines: agronomy, anthropology, archeometry (palynology, dating 14C, etc.), ceramology, geography, geomorphology, petrography, sedimentology, volumetry. It recuts several sets of themes : …

Towards a multi-agent model to prevent damage caused by cocoa mirids to cocoa pods
2019
Agriculture in general and cocoa farm in particular is one of the primary sources of income for several African countries. Although quite useful for the development of Africa, cocoa production is faced with several challenges like the diseases of cocoa trees. Mirid (Sahlbergella singularis) is the worst pest affecting cocoa production across west Africa causing 30% to 40% of damage on cocoa production. It is difficult to control the mirids’ population and its impact on the cacao production. Related works on mirids studied the mirids population as a macroscopic entity without considering local interactions of individual mirids. These models did not consider the behaviours and the environment…
Thermal sprayed coatings for protection against cavitation erosion
2018
In order to protect the hydraulic components from cavitation erosion phenomena, the parts are often coated by thermal spraying. Buck YSZ shows an excellent performance against cavitation erosion. However, the cavitation erosion resistance of YSZ coatings have vaguely been studied. Therefore, in this study, YSZ were manufactured with different thermal spraying processes and post-treated by laser remelting, then they were subjected to cavitation tests according to ASTM G32.The YSZ coating was first manufactured by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS). Various sizes of YSZ powder and different preheating temperatures of the substrate were studied to observe their effect on the cavitation behavior…
