Plašsaziņas līdzekļi ir spēcīgs instruments valdošās sabiedrības daļas rokās, lai izplatītu ideoloģijai atbilstošas idejas. Šo darbu paveic attiecīgi izvēlēti valodas līdzekļi, kas ļauj uzsvērt vai, tieši otrādi, apslēpt dažādus uzskatus. Darba mērķis bija izpētīt, kā Ukrainas krīze tiek atspoguļota medijos no Krievijas, Ukrainas un Rietumu perspektīvas. Iegūtie dati, kurus veidoja 45 ziņu reportāžas, tika analizēti, izmantojot kritisko diskursa analīzi, un tika izvērtēta leksika, mākslinieciskie izteiksmes līdzekļi, modalitāte un transitivitāte. Il libro esplora la multimodalità nel linguaggio attraverso un’analisi comparata delle forme e delle funzioni del gesto nelle lingue vocali e nelle lingue dei segni. Le lingue sono multimodali perché utilizzano diversi tipi di indici gestuali nell’espressione linguistica veicolando dimensioni del significato che spesso sono assenti nel parlato o nel flusso segnico. Attraverso questo confronto si rileva quanto le lingue vocali siano anche gestuali e le stesse lingue dei segni si servano di un’oralità fatta di suoni e rumori non linguistici. This article investigates the way politicians use social networking sites as effective communication platforms to discursively enhance authenticity, sincerity and (self-)connection to what can be defined as the “People” (followers/lurkers/net-users). Within the framework of Social Media Critical Discourse Studies, and using tools coming from Multimodal Discourse Analysis, the paper analyses the multi-semiotic elements used by different political leaders (i.e. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Matteo Salvini), to connect with the “People,” and discusses the politainment product as a personalised way to skip the institutional mediation channels of politics.

A new methodology for automated extraction of repeated patterns in time-series data is presented, aimed in particular at the analysis of musical sequences. The basic principles consists in a search for closed patterns in a multi-dimensional parametric space. It is shown that this basic mechanism needs to be articulated with a periodic pattern discovery system, implying therefore a strict chronological scanning of the time-series data.
