In this work, two applications for the visualization of the aggregation and the solubilization of structureless interacting particles are presented. The applications allow to demonstrate on a qualitative basis as well as by quantitatively monitoring the time evolution of the surface/volume ratio and of the fractions of aggregated particles, that, on the one hand, the growth of nanoaggregates implies a decrease of their surface/volume ratio and, on the other, that the formation of homogeneous mixtures is the result of favorable solute-solvent interactions as well as of temperature. Two‐sample problems in statistical data modelling

A common problem in mathematical statistics is to check whether two samples differ from each other. From modelling point of view it is possible to make a statistical test for the equality of two means or alternatively two distribution functions. The second approach allows to represent the two‐sample test graphically. This can be done by adding simultaneous confidence bands to the probability‐probability (P — P) or quantile‐quantile (Q — Q) plots. Fibre fragment distribution in a single-fibre composite tension test

Abstract Single fibre fragmentation tests are performed for brittle fibres with Weibull strength distribution and different surface treatments. The fragmentation process is modelled and closed-form expressions for break spacing distribution are obtained. The model accounts for the effect of finite fibre length on the initial fragmentation as well as for break interaction on the advanced fragmentation stage. It is assumed that the exclusion zone due to fibre–matrix interface failure and stress recovery in the fibre is linearly dependent on the applied load. This assumption is validated experimentally. We have developed a new method to calculate the occupancies of single particle levels in atomic nuclei. This method has been developed in the context of the microscopic interacting boson model, in which neutron and proton degrees of freedom are treated explicitly. The energies of the single particle levels constitute a very important input for the calculation of the occupancies in this method. In principle these energies can be considered as input parameters that can be fitted to reproduce the experimental occupancies. Sintētisko miRNS ietekme uz zarnu mikrobioma kompozīciju 2. tipa cukura diabēta peļu modelī

Zarnu mikrobioma kompozīcijas izmaiņas tiek asociētas ar dažādām slimībām, tostarp otrā tipa cukura diabētu (T2D). Interese par T2D ārstēšanu, regulējot mikrobiomu, ir strauji augusi. Ir pierādīts, ka miRNS spēj tieši saistīties pie baktērijām, tādējādi ietekmējot to sastopamību. Lai noskaidrotu, vai un kā miRNS ietekmē mikrobioma sastāvu un diabēta izpausmes diētas ierosinātā T2D peļu modelī, tām tika orāli nodrošināta nedēļu ilga dažādu miRNS terapija, kam sekoja fēču metagenoma sekvencēšana. Pelēm, kas saņēma paaugstināta tauku satura barību, miRNS terapijas ietekmē izmainījās zarnu mikrobioma kompozīcija.
