From Dupin cyclides to scaled cyclides

Dupin cyclides are algebraic surfaces introduced for the first time in 1822 by the French mathematician Pierre-Charles Dupin. They have a low algebraic degree and have been proposed as a solution to a variety of geometric modeling problems. The circular curvature line’s property facilitates the construction of the cyclide (or the portion of a cyclide) that blends two circular quadric primitives. In this context of blending, the only drawback of cyclides is that they are not suitable for the blending of elliptic quadric primitives. Dans ce poster, nous présentons le modèle gravitaire sous différents modèles en mettant en évidence les effets de distance et les occasions interposées. Le modèle généralisé de Newton est utilisé et donne des estimations relativement correctes des flux intercommunaux en région PACA.

Mathematical modelling of sustainable bioresidual concrete

In the production of cement, which is the main component of concrete production, the process generates about 5% of the global carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, bioproduct and pulp mills produce signi_cant quantities of soda ash and bio-ash, which is still largely unused. In this paper we will introduce our study related to improving the environmental friendliness of concrete used in construction by utilizing pulp mill waste while its long-term durability and strength and porosity properties meet the goals set for construction. The project `sustainable bioresidual concrete' is on-going and only preliminary numerical results with measurements are presented here. peerReviewed

Modeling the hydrological and mechanical effect of roots in shallow landslide analysis

The additional cohesion exercised by vegetation roots (cr) provides an important contribution to the slope stability. This study proposes a methodology for estimating the cr term in a hillslope landslide analysis within a coupled ecohydrological-stability model. The coupled model simulates the spatial distribution and temporal dynamics of the Factor of Safety (FS) as a function of soil moisture dynamics, by taking into account the hydrological effects of vegetation through the root water uptaking. In dieser Arbeit wurden sämtliche Glockenbecher-Elemente (1200 verzierte Gefässe bzw. Gefässfragmente) aus über 300 südostfranzösischen Fundstellen mit annähernd berücksichtigt.
