Con la extensión de la escolarización hasta los 16 años, se introdujo en el año 1994 un tipo de formación profesionalizadora de muy bajo nivel de cualificación, especialmente diseñada para los adolescentes clasificados como de bajo rendimiento académico en Educación Secundaria y para aquellos en situación de vulnerabilidad social. Se presenta un análisis de la evolución histórico-jurídi ca de los Archivos de Distrito (AD) portugueses, como instituciones que asumen la salvaguarda del patrimo nio público-administrativo del país. Para ello se revisa la bibliografía más relevante sobre el tema, así como la documentación histórica, legal y política, describien do su historia desde sus orígenes y los nuevos caminos que se van trazando, en relación con el aumento de la accesibilidad a la documentación que gestionan y a las nuevas estrategias de difusión de la información entre la ciudadanía. Todo ello en el marco de las distintas ini ciativas de modernización administrativa y las nuevas tecnologías disponibles.

We extend previous knowledge by evaluating the impact of media attention on individual changes of RRP party sympathies. To test our hypotheses, we use panel data from The Netherlands and combine it with information on the saliency of RRP parties and their issues in major Dutch newspapers. Serological surveys, which acquired considerable importance in the mid twentieth century, are still a key tool to address infectious diseases. This article, using archival and printed sources from the WHO and the medical and general press, analyses the role of doctors and scientists, government, and the WHO in the implementation of serological surveys to evaluate the situation of poliomyelitis, measles and rubella in Spain and to set up a plan of action against them. This paper outlines a process for software system modernization decisions. The rationale of the process is explained and the process is defined in a way that allows its adaptation for other organizations and situations. The process is a light-weight one and is based on the use of objective data. The procedures for collecting the data are explained. This chapter traces the transnational journey of Philippine anthropologist Felipe Landa Jocano from the 1950s to the 1970s. Jocano was part of a group of Philippine social scientists who earned their post-graduate degrees at the University of Chicago after the Philippines became independent from the US. One of the pre-eminent scholars in the Philippines, Jocano’s professional and intellectual journey unfolded against the backdrop of the Cold War and decolonization.
