Calculation of heat and moisture distribution in the porous media layer
2007
In this paper we study the problem of the diffusion of one substance through the pores of a porous material which may absorb and immobilize some of the diffusing substances with the evolution or absorption of heat. The transfer of moisture and the heat are described by the model. The system of two partial differential equations (PDEs) is derived, one equation expresses the rate of change of concentration of water vapour in the air spaces and the other the rate of change of temperature. The obtained initial‐boundary value problem is approximated by using the finite volume method. This procedure allows us to reduce the 2D transfer problem described by a system of PDEs to initial value problem…
Histological and histochemical changes in the colon mucosa after ureterosigmoidostomy or colonic conduit.
1988
A study was made of 22 patients previously subjected to urinary diversion, 12 with ureterosigmoidostomy and 10 with colon conduit. The histological and histochemical examination of biopsies of intestinal mucosa near to and far from the ureteral orifices showed transformations with considerable inflammatory infiltration, variations in the composition of the acid mucins with a prevalence of sialomucins, lengthening and branching of the glandular crypts, and sometimes dysplasias of the epithelium. These structural modifications are typical of transitional mucosa. Transitional mucosa might reflect an aspecific reaction of the intestinal mucosa or alternatively it might signify a precancerous co…
Tissue microarray construction for salivary gland tumors study
2012
Objective: To describe and discuss the design, building and usefulness of tissue microarray (TMA) blocks for the study of salivary gland tumors (SGTs). Study Design: Two hundred thirty-eight formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded SGTs were arranged in blocks of TMA using a manual tissue arrayer. Three representative cores of 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0mm were taken from each original block and their characteristics were analyzed and described. Results: It was created 12 TMA blocks that presented highly representative neoplastic cylinders. However, those neoplasias rich in cystic spaces such as mucoepidermoid carcinoma and Warthin tumor presented more difficulties to be sampled, as the neoplastic tissue avai…
Retrospective study of 124 cases of salivary gland tumors and literature review
2019
Background Salivary gland tumors are a rare and morphologically diverse group of lesions and their frequency is still unknown in several parts of the world. The knowledge of its population characteristics contributes to a better understanding of its etiopathogenesis. Objectives: This study investigated the frequency of salivary gland tumors in a region of southern Brazil and compared these data in a literature review. Material and Methods A retrospective study was conducted of salivary gland tumors diagnosed at two pathology centers from 1995 to 2016. Patient age and gender, tumor site and frequency, histopathological diagnosis, and symptomatology were evaluated. Chi-squared tests were used…
Bilateral hairy polyp of the oropharynx.
1996
AbstractHairy polyp of the nasopharynx is an unusual but well-recognized entity, generally presenting as a single mass at birth or in the first year of life. We describe the clinico-pathological features of a previously unreported bilateral hairy polyp in an adult and briefly discuss the pathogenesis of this condition.
2013
This dissertation presents the evaluation of an onsite augmented reality tool and its relevance for helping construction agents to prepare and monitor the progress of a building's construction or renovation through a mobile device. The case study focuses on virtual renovation works regarding an ancient window –dated eighteenth century- in a room of the Cluny (Saone et Loire, France) abbey buildings. The study aims at comparing the efficiency and the precision of users' behavior in four situations while performing identical sets of tasks. Three methods related to the ICT uses of onsite AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) guided the experiment: the first method focuses on paper-b…
2017
This research falls mainly into the field of political communication. It tries to comprehend cultural and patrimonial questions as essentiel political communication issue in the municipalities in France. Having chosen two fields (Nice and Dijon), established a theoretical tool and a methodology, we started to hypothesize as follows : the political communication, relating to matters of culture and heritage in the local democratic life, builds up as two differing communication systems in each city. Our work draws on a corpus composed of semi-structured interviews with elected representatives, their speeches and other additional sources (speeches in the media, public and private archives of th…
L'immatériel pour matière.
2014
2016
L'article ressemble les résultats du Campus DO.RE.MI.HE.
