2009

The synthesis from triazolopyridines 1, of novel triazolopyridylcarbonylpyridylcarbonyltriazolopyridines (TPyCOPyCOTPy) (tpcpctp) 7, and polypyridylcarbonylpyridines (pPyCOPy) (ppcp) 14, building blocks in supramolecular chemistry, is described. These compounds are interesting polynitrogenated ligands as potential molecular sensors, new magnetic materials, single molecular magnets, or in the emerging science of nanomaterials. Sesterterpenes and macrolide derivatives from the endophytic fungus Aplosporella javeedii.

2020

Abstract Five sesterterpenes (1–5) including two new compounds (1 and 2), as well as a new (6) and a known macrolide (7) were isolated from the endophytic fungus Aplosporella javeedii. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by analysis of their 1D and 2D NMR and HRMS data as well as by comparison with the literature. Compound 4 and its acetyl derivatives 4a, 4b, 4c which were prepared by acetylation of 4 exhibited moderate cytotoxicity against the mouse lymphoma cell line L5178Y with IC50 values ranging from 6.2 to 12.8 μM, respectively. Moreover, 4a and 4c exhibited also cytotoxicity against human leukemia (Jurkat J16) and lymphoma (Ramos) cell lines. Compound 7 showed strong …

A Supramolecular Chiral Auxiliary Approach: “Remote Control ”of Stereochemistry at a Hierarchically Assembled Dimeric Helicate

2016

Dimeric hierarchically-assembled titanium(IV) helicates are in solvent-dependent equilibrium with the corresponding monomers. Statistically formed mixtures of such complexes bearing chiral stereocontrolling ligands and achiral diene-substituted ligands show high diastereoselectivity and reasonable enantioselectivity in the Diels-Alder reaction with maleimides if the reaction proceeds with the dimer but not with the monomer. Thus, solvent dependent switching between the monomer and dimer enables on/off switching of the enantioselectivity.

Coordination self-assembly through weak interactions in meso-dialkoxyphosphoryl-substituted zinc porphyrinates.

2019

International audience; The self-assembly of seven zinc 10-(dialkoxyphosphoryl)-5,15-diarylporphyrinates Zn5-Zn11 containing different substituents at the phosphonate and aryl groups was investigated. Single crystals of Zn5-Zn9 complexes were grown under the same conditions and analyzed by X-ray structural analysis. A supramolecular self-assembly is observed in all crystals through weak coordinative bonding of the phosphoryl group of one porphyrin molecule to the zinc(II) ion of a second porphyrin molecule. The geometry of the porphyrin macrocycle is similar in all of the studied crystals and the central zinc atom in each case adopts a distorted tetragonal pyramidal environment. However, th…

Supramolecular PEG-co-oligo(p-benzamide)s prepared on a peptide synthesizer.

2007

An automated synthesis protocol has been developed for the preparation of oligo(p-benzamide)s on solid support using a commercial peptide synthesizer employing a variation of standard Fmoc chemistry. Bis(trichloromethyl carbonate) in NMP was used to activate the aromatic carboxylic acids for acylation of secondary aromatic amines on solid support. N-Protected hepta(p-benzamide) was automatically prepared on solid support and manually converted to a solid supported block co-oligomer by attaching a poly(ethylene glycol) chain. Cleavage from the support could be achieved with minimal loss of the p-methoxybenzyl N-protective group. While the N-protected block co-oligomer was molecularly dissolv…

An Extraction-Based Assay for Neutral Anionophores: The Measurement of High Binding Constants to Steroidal Receptors in a Nonpolar Solvent

2002

The extraction-based proto- col for measuring binding constants, developed by Cram and co-workers, has been extended for use with anionic substrates. The method is especially useful for high-affinity receptors, allow- ing very high binding constants to be measured in nonpolar solvents. Distri- bution constants Kd between chloroform and water have been obtained for tet- raethylammonium chloride and bro- mide, thus calibrating the method for these two substrates. Application to steroidal podands 5 ± 9 has confirmed the ability of electron-withdrawing groups to enhance hydrogen-bond do- nor capabilities. Binding constants of 3 10 71 have been measured for the most powerful receptor 7. An X-ray…

Halogen-bonded solvates of tetrahaloethynyl cavitands

2017

The formation and structures of halogen-bonded solvates of three different tetrahaloethynyl cavitands with acetone, chloroform, acetonitrile, DMF and DMSO were prepared and investigated. The inclusion and host–guest behaviour of the resorcinarene cavitands was found to be highly dependent on the flexibility of the ethylene-bridging unit.

Hierarchical Self-Organization of Perylene Bisimide–Melamine Assemblies to Fluorescent Mesoscopic Superstructures

2000

A series of three perylene tetracarboxylic acid bisimide dyes 3a-c bearing phenoxy substituents at the four bay positions of the perylene core were synthesized and their complexation behavior to complementary ditopic dialkyl melamines 8a-c was investigated. Binding constants and Gibbs binding energies for the hydrogen bonds between the imide and the complementary melamine moiety have been determined in several solvents by NMR and UV/Vis titration experiments with monotopic model compounds 5 and 9. The effects of the solvent polarity and specific solvent-solute interactions on the degree of polymerization of (3 x 8)n are discussed, and a general formula to estimate the chain length of [AA-BB…

C-28/C-30 oxidized cycloartanes from the leaves and twigs of Caloncoba dusenii Gilg

2021

Abstract Four hitherto unreported cycloartane-type triterpenes (1-4) with C-28/C-30 oxidized methyl groups together with two known compounds (5-6) have been obtained from the leaves and twigs of Caloncoba dusenii Gilg. The compounds were isolated through extraction and silica gel column chromatography. Their structures and relative stereochemistry were determined by extensive use of spectroscopic techniques including IR, 1D and 2D-NMR as well as mass spectrometry. This is the first report of C-28/C-30 oxidized positions in cycloartanes from nature.
