This article aims to explore the connection between the conflicts in informa- tion policies being observed during the present pandemic situation and the poten- tial abuse of automation technologies in the processing of information. From a his- torical point of view, the connection between an effective elaboration of information and the development of automation technologies was devised by authors such as Norbert Wiener, Claude Shannon and Alan Turing, at the very beginning of the modern theory of information. This link with today seems to be justified by histor- ical circumstances that are still quoted in order to discipline and “militarise” the spreading of information during the pandemic.…
Diamondoid Nanostructures as sp 3 ‐Carbon‐Based Gas Sensors

Diamondoids, sp3 -hybridized nanometer-sized diamond-like hydrocarbons (nanodiamonds), difunctionalized with hydroxy and primary phosphine oxide groups, enable the assembly of the first sp3 -C-based chemical sensors by vapor deposition. Both pristine nanodiamonds and palladium nanolayered composites can be used to detect toxic NO2 and NH3 gases. This carbon-based gas sensor technology allows reversible NO2 detection down to 50 ppb and NH3 detection at 25-100 ppm concentration with fast response and recovery processes at 100 °C. Selective Preparation of Diamondoid Phosphonates

We present an effective sequence for the preparation of phosphonic acid derivatives of the diamondoids diamantane, triamantane, [121]tetramantane, and [1(2,3)4]pentamantane. The reactions of the corresponding diamondoid hydroxy derivatives with PCl3 in sulfuric or trifluoroacetic acid give mono- as well as didichlorophosphorylated diamondoids in high preparative yields.

Il saggio mette in evidenza la fecondità teorica del naturalismo biologico di Searle nel far fronte al problema della causalità mentale, soffermandosi in particolare sulla centralità che in tale quadro teorico assumono i concetti di causalità bottom up no time gap e causalità sistemica, sulla base dei quali la prospettiva searleana può confrontarsi proficuamente con alcune tra le più recenti acquisizioni delle neuroscienze. La naturalizzazione non riduttiva del mentale prospettata da Searle consente al filosofo americano di affrontare in modo convincente le tematiche relative alla struttura della razionalità umana e della realtà istituzionale.
