Introduction One of the examples of genes whose expression can be altered by the action of ustekinumab is TGF-β. It is a pleiotropic cytokine whose activity affects psoriatic changes and the state of homeostasis of the whole organism. Aim To evaluate the effect of ustekinumab on the transcriptional activity of TGF-b family genes in patients with psoriatic arthritis and to check whether the results obtained can be helpful in monitoring the progress of treatment. The field of molecular metal clusters protected by organothiolates is experiencing a very rapid growth. So far, however, a clear understanding of the fine interactions between the cluster core and the capping monolayer has remained elusive, despite the importance of the latter in interfacing the former to the surrounding medium. MAO-B (MAO-B) on yksi amiinien hapetuksesta vastaavista entsyymeistä. Se vaikuttaa esimerkiksi aivoissa hermosolujen toimintaan säätelemällä hermovälittäjäaineiden pitoisuutta solun sisällä. MAO-B-inhibiittoreilla voidaan estää kyseisen entsyymin toimintaa ja täten liiallista amiinien hajotusta, joka voi johtaa muun muassa hermostosairauksiin. Peptīda lunasīna un tā fragmentu efekti uz smadzeņu monoamīnu līmeni pelēm

Lunasīns ir jaunatklāts 43 aminoskābju garš peptīds, kas sākumā tika iegūts no sojas pupiņām. Pēc tam lunasīns tika atrasts arī graudaugos un citos augos. Lunasīnam piemīt pretvēža, pretiekaisuma darbība un spēja samazināt zema blīvuma lipoproteīnu līmeni asinīs. Tomēr lunasīna ietekme uz centrālo nervu sistēmu līdz šim ir ļoti maz pētīta. Darba mērķis bija pētīt lunasīna un tā fragmentu efektu uz monoamīnu saturu peļu smadzenēs, mērot monoamīnu līmeni ar augstas efektivitātes šķidruma hromatogrāfijas un masspektrometrijas tandēma metodi. This study compared motivations to engage in sex between monogamous and non-monogamous respondents (n = 1,238, out of which 641 monogamous and 596 non-monogamous respondents; women—47.4%, men—50.9%, other gender—1.7%; age: M = 27.78 years, SD = 7.53, range = 18–62). The research aim was to identify whether there are differences in self-reported reasons to engage in sexual activity between these two groups.
