A Roof Tile from 1678 Found in Calasparra (Murcia) as an Abiding Medium of Writing

Analysis of a red clay roof tile which bears an heretofore unknown inscription of the late 'procesal' script style and humanistic characters along with the date 1678, marking its exact year of manufacture. This tile was found on the roof of an old barn structure in ruins, located on 'Horno de Calasparra' Street (Murcia), before its demolition. We will also point out some of the more significant aspects of the historic profession of tile making, which has all but disappeared. Sediment yield from glacio-lacustrine calcareous deposits during the postglacial period in the Combe d’Ain (Jura, France)

The middle valley of the river Ain (Jura) cuts through glacio-lacustrine deposits laid down in an ice-dammed lake during the most recent glacial advance. The total volume eroded is about 6·21 ×10 8 m 3 for a surface area of 3·7 ×10 7 m 2 . Erosion occurred between 18 ka BP and 6 ka BP, i.e. over a duration of some 12 ka. Sediment yield from the area was of the order of 2500 t km -2 a -1 , which is comparable with modern-day sediment yield from NW African badlands. Entre las intervenciones de más calado se cuenta la Escuela de Sordomudos y Ciegos (actual Xunta de Galicia), creada por Ricardo Velázquez Bosco. La introducció del paper en la confecció dels llibres i dels registres arxivístics constituí una autèntic revolució ja que possibilità el seu ús de forma massiva en les oficines de les institucions públiques i privades i “popularitzà” el llibre de lectura i estudi. L’enquadernació d’estil mudèjar, hegemònic durant el període baix medieval, constituirà un dels estils més original de la història de l’enquadernació hispànica i que perdurarà fins el segle XVI. El paper com a suport documental i llibrari i l’estil mudèjar de les enquadernacions dels llibres són dues grans aportacions del món àrab.

Esta comunicación reflexiona sobre las razones que han llevado a los estudiosos a sostener la posible influencia del cine soviético de los años veinte en la película española La aldea Maldita (Florián Rey, 1930). Para ello analiza las circunstancias de producción de ambas cinematografías, española y rusa, entendidas en su contexto sociocultural. This paper reflects on the reasons that have led researchers to support the possible influence of the Soviet cinema of the twenties in the Spanish film “La aldea maldita” (The Cursed Village, Florian Rey, 1930). It looks at the circumstances of production of both cinemas, Spanish and Russian, understood in their cultural context.

The rise of temperatures due to global warming is related to a lengthening of the breeding season in many bird species. This allows more pairs to attempt two clutches within the breeding season, thus finishing their breeding activity later in the season and therefore potentially overlapping these with post–breeding moult. We tested whether this occurred in two Spanish great tit Parus major populations. The proportion of pairs laying second clutches increased from 1 % to 32 % over the study period in one of the populations (Sagunto, 1995–2019), while it did not change in the other (Quintos, 2006–2019; mean 5 %).
