Should I use touchscreen tablets rather than computers and mice in TDS trials?

International audience; Internet technologies are increasingly used as tools in sensory analysis. Thus, it would be a natural step forward for sensory science to move beyond the laboratory, into people's homes. Therefore, working with consumer IT devices like touchscreen tablets in sensory science should be taken into consideration. Working with the intuitive concept of dominance, Temporal Dominance of Sensations (TDS) requires a non-analytical answer from the subject. New key based on tilted lenses for optical encryption

A novel concept based on tilted spherical lenses for optical encryption using Lohmann’s type I systems is presented. The tilt angle of the spherical lenses is used as an encrypted key and the decryption performance is studied both qualitatively (visual image degradation) and quantitatively (mean squared error analysis) by numerical simulations. The paper presents a general mathematical framework in virtue of the dioptric power matrix formalism and oblique central refraction used in the optometry field. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usability of the Measuring Active Drag (MAD) system, a technical device for biomechanical evaluation and performance analysis. Sixth graders’ evaluation strategies when reading Internet search results : an eye-tracking study

Eye-tracking technology was used to examine Internet search result evaluation strategies adopted by sixth-grade students (N = 36) during ten experimental information search tasks. The relevancy of the search result’s title, URL, and snippet components was manipulated and selection of search results as well as looking into probabilities on the search result components was analysed. The results revealed that during first-pass inspection, students read the search engine page by first looking at the title of a search result. Blending in Hybrid Games: Understanding Hybrid Games Through Experience

The meaning of what hybrid games are is often fixed to the context in which the term is used. For example, hybrid games have often been defined in relation to recent developments in technology. This creates issues in its usage and limitations in thinking. This paper argues that hybrid games should be understood through conceptual metaphors. Hybridity is the blending of different cognitive domains that are not usually associated together. Hybrid games usually blend domains related to games, for example digital and board games, but can blend also other domains. Through this type of thinking, designers can be more open to exploring how their games can be experienced.

Anharmonicity deformation and curvature in supersymmetric potentials

An algebraic description of the class of 1D supersymmetric shape invariant potentials is investigated in terms of the shape-invariant-potential (SIP) deformed algebra, the generators of which act both on the dynamical variable and on the parameters of the potentials. The phase space geometry associated with SIP's is studied by means of a coherent state (SIP-CS) path integral and the ray metric of the SIP-CS manifold.
