Ant Colony Optimisation for classification has mostly been limited to rule based approaches where artificial ants walk on datasets in order to extract rules from the trends in the data, and hybrid approaches which attempt to boost the performance of existing classifiers through guided feature reductions or parameter optimisations. Exploring the reciprocal modulation of time and space in dancers and non-dancers.

We explored whether time and space representations modulate each other in subjects that are trained to integrate time and space dimensions, i.e., professional dancers. A group of dancers, and one of non-dancers, underwent two different tasks employing identical stimuli. A first static central line could last one of three possible durations and could have one of three possible lengths. A second growing line appeared from the left or right of the screen and grew up toward the opposite direction at constant velocity. Spanish Version of the Time Management Behavior Questionnaire for University Students

The main objective of the study is to analyze the psychometric properties and predictive capacity on academic performance in university contexts of a Spanish adaptation of the Time Management Behavior Questionnaire. The scale was applied to 462 students newly admitted at the Universitat de València in the 2006-2007 school year. Entropy characteristics of heart rate wavelet multiscale components in epileptic children before and after seizures

In this work, we analyze the information content of the multiple time scale components of heart rate variability (HRV) in children with focal epilepsy. HRV components are extracted from 30 pediatric patients, monitored 10 min and 10 s before and after focal epileptic seizures, using wavelet multiscale decomposition (with 5, 15, 30, 60, 120, 180 s time scale), and then characterized computing Entropy (E), permutation entropy (PE), conditional entropy (CE) and information storage (IS). Investigating a simplified method for noninvasive genetic sampling in East African mammals using silica dried scat swabs

Abstract Swabbing scat has proved to be an effective noninvasive method to collect DNA from mammals in the field. Previously, this method has relied on preservative liquids or freezing to preserve the DNA collected on swabs. In this study, we determine the effectiveness of using silica to simply dry the swab in field as an alternative way to prevent DNA degredation. Four species were included in the study; reticulated giraffe, impala, fringe‐eared oryx, and lion. A wavelet analysis of the ripple effect in UK regional housing markets

Abstract The paper aims at gaining insights on the spatio-temporal mechanism of house price spillovers, also known as ripple effect, among 12 UK regional housing markets, over the period 1973–2018. From a policy perspective, it is essential to discriminate if the effects of a shock decay more slowly along the geographical dimension as compared to the decay along the time dimension. Abstract Prior studies recognise the enabling power of incompleteness in the design of Performance Measurement Systems (PMS). We add to these studies by exploring the ‘time dimension’ of incompleteness as a way to delve into the generative power of design.
