Off-axis holographic multiplexing involves capturing several complex wavefronts, each encoded into off-axis holograms with different interference fringe orientations, simultaneously, with a single camera acquisition. Thus, the multiplexed off-axis hologram can capture several wavefronts at once, where each one encodes different information from the sample, using the same number of pixels typically required for acquiring a single conventional off-axis hologram encoding only one sample wavefront. A 7-year-old female child with phenotype of Cervico-Oculo-Acousticus (Wildervanck's) syndrome is presented. In addition to fusion of multiple cervical vertebrae with short neck, abducens nerve palsy and deafness, the child showed severe growth and bone delay, renal abnormalities and slight mental retardation. The presence of such malformations seems to suggest that Wildervanck's syndrome is a clinical variant of Klippel-Feil sequence. Both conditions usually have sporadic occurrence with female prevalence, more consistent for cervico-oculo-acousticus syndrome. The olfactory impact of sotolon [4,5-dimethyl-3-hydroxy-2(5H)-furanone] in wines was first demonstrated in botrytized wines. In sherry wines it was recently found to occur at concentrations varying from 0 to 500 ppb. The olfactory detection threshold of a sample of purified racemic sotolon was determined to be lower (15 ppb) in white wine than its concentration in most sherries. Its flavor impact in sherries was calculated to be between 1 and 25 OUV. Abstract This work proposes a correlation for the specific capital cost of multi-effect distillation (MED) plants, considering their main design options and parameters, such as the number of effects, size/capacity, and heat source temperature. These parameters are varied within a large range to cover as many different cases as possible. The cost correlation decouples the evaporator cost and includes in the expression the ratio of the heat exchanger area to a reference one. The thermal expansion of polycrystalline ${\mathrm{ReO}}_{3}$ is studied in vacuum by x-ray diffraction from 300 to 600 K and by extended x-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) at the Re ${L}_{3}$ edge from 30 to 600 K. A detailed EXAFS analysis is presented up to the sixth coordination shell around Re. The crystal thermal expansion is weak throughout the explored range, negative below 100 K, positive from 150 to 500 K, and negative again above 500 K. The analysis of mean square relative displacements obtained by EXAFS and of mean square displacements available from x-ray and neutron diffraction measurements confirms the presence of significant static disorder in the investigated samples. …
