Approximations and Metric Regularity in Mathematical Programming in Banach Space

1993

This paper establishes verifiable conditions ensuring the important notion of metric regularity for general nondifferentiable programming problems in Banach spaces. These conditions are used to obtain Lagrange-Kuhn-Tucker multipliers for minimization problems with infinitely many inequality and equality constraints.

High-speed, low-complexity fir filter using multiplier block reduction and polyphase decomposition

2005

In this paper we discuss the design and implementation of a highspeed FIR filter for both interpolation and decimation of the sample frequency. Several FIR filter structures are compared and various schemes for simplifying the implementation of the multiplications are evaluated. Carry-save adders with carryoverflow correction are used in the implementation. The results in terms of chip area and power consumption are compared using a standard 0.8 pm 3.3 V CMOS process.

Remarks on p-summing multipliers.

2001

Let X and Y be Banach spaces and 1 ≤ p < ∞, a sequence of operators (Tn) from X into Y is called a p-summing multiplier if (Tn(xn)) belongs to lp(Y) whenever (xn) satisfies that ((x*, xn)) belongs to lp for all x* ∈ X*. We present several examples of p-summing multipliers and extend known results for p-summing operators to this setting. We get, using almost summing and Rademacher bounded operators, some sufficient conditions for a sequence to be a p-summing multiplier between spaces with some geometric properties.

Nonlinear analysis of classical phase-locked loops in signal's phase space

2014

Abstract Discovery of undesirable hidden oscillations, which cannot be found by the standard simulation, in phase-locked loop (PLL) showed the importance of consideration of nonlinear models and development of rigorous analytical methods for their analysis. In this paper for various signal waveforms, analytical computation of multiplier/mixer phase-detector characteristics is demonstrated, and nonlinear dynamical model of classical analog PLL is derived. Approaches to the rigorous nonlinear analysis of classical analog PLL are discussed.

The radius of starlikeness of the certain classes of p-valent functions defined by multiplier transformations

2008

The aim of this paper is to give the radius of starlikeness of the certain classes of -valent functions defined by multiplier transformations. The results are obtained by using techniques of Robertson (1953,1963) which was used by Bernardi (1970), Libera (1971), Livingstone (1966), and Goel (1972).

Automated parametric neutronics analysis of the Helium Cooled Pebble Bed breeder blanket with Be 12 Ti

2017

The Helium Cooled Pebble Bed (HCPB) breeder blanket is being developed as part of the European Fusion Programme. Part of the programme is to investigate blanket designs relevant for future demonstration fusion power plants. This paper presents neutronics analyses of the HCPB with an alternative neutron multiplier, Be12Ti which is incorporated into the design, replacing the current Be multiplier. A parameter study was performed for a range of geometries to identify the optimal heights of the lithium ceramic and neutron multiplier pebble beds. Automated creation of CAD models followed by conversion to constructive solid geometry (CSG) and unstructured mesh (UM) geometry allows the models to b…

Signal to Noise Ratio of Silicon Photomultipliers measured in the Continuous Wave Regime

2014

We performed a Signal to Noise Ratio characterization, in the continuous wave regime, at different bias voltages, frequencies and temperatures, on a novel class of silicon photomultipliers fabricated in planar technology on silicon p-type substrate. Signal to Noise Ratio has been measured as the ratio of the photogenerated current, filtered and averaged by a lock-in amplifier, and the Root Mean Square deviation of the overall current flowing to the device. The measured noise takes into account the shot noise, resulting from the photocurrent and the dark current. We have also performed a comparison between our SiPMs and a photomultiplier tube in terms of Signal to Noise Ratio, as a function …

Nanopatterned ferroelectric crystals for parametric generation

2006

We report on recent results by surface periodic poling on lithium niobate and lithium tantalate. Such approach allows periodic inversion of the second order susceptibility with nanoscale features using insulating masks. We achieved a world-best 200 nm feature size, as well as good compatibility with alpha-phase proton exchanged channel waveguides in lithium niobate. Preliminary results of surface periodic poling in lithium tantalate also show similar characteristics. Surface poling is best suited for integrated optics devices in technologically-demanding configurations such as backward second harmonic generation and counter propagating optical parametric amplification

A Time Projection Chamber with GEM-Based Readout

2016

For the International Large Detector concept at the planned International Linear Collider, the use of time projection chambers (TPC) with micro-pattern gas detector readout as the main tracking detector is investigated. In this paper, results from a prototype TPC, placed in a 1 T solenoidal field and read out with three independent GEM-based readout modules, are reported. The TPC was exposed to a 6 GeV electron beam at the DESY II synchrotron. The efficiency for reconstructing hits, the measurement of the drift velocity, the space point resolution and the control of field inhomogeneities are presented.
