Taloton taidemuseo : Lahden museo- ja taidelautakunnan taidemuseorakennusta käsittelevät puheenvuorot 1950-1982

Lahden taidemuseo perustettiin Viipurin taidemuseosta saatujen teosten ympärille vuonna 1950. Taidemuseo sijoitettiin väliaikaisesti teknillisen virastotalon kuudenteen kerrokseen. Kaupunkiin oli suunnitteilla kulttuurilaitosten yhteisrakennus, jonka yhteyteen myös taidemuseo ajateltiin sijoittaa. Yhteishanke jäi toteutumatta ja taidemuseon väliaikaiseksi tarkoitetusta sijainnista tulikin pitkäaikainen. Useat toimijat ovat ponnistelleet taidemuseon tilarealiteettien parantamiseksi. Lahden taidemuseorakennushanke on paikallisessa kontekstissa poikkeuksellisen pitkäaikainen ratkaisematon kulttuuripoliittinen hanke. Tutkielma käsittelee Suomen 21 kulttuurihistoriallisen maakuntamuseon kokoelma- ja säilytystiloja sekä museoiden toiminta-alueellaan tekemää yhteistyötä alueen paikallismuseoiden kanssa vuoden 2016 tilanteesta. Tavoitteena oli selvittää maakuntamuseoiden kokoelmatilojen kuntoa, määrää ja kokoelmatyöhön käytettävissä olevia resursseja, sekä minkälaisia kehittämissuunnitelmia museoissa on museoesineiden säilytystilojen osalta. The objective of this paper is to analyse the transformations in the field of museums in Poland, and to study more closely the process of constructing a museum model that meets contemporary challenges. Two types of museums are analysed here, namely national museums and museums of modern art, to demonstrate how their respective activities affect the structure of the field in question, bringing about change.
